Papa Dubi's

We have been going to Papa Dubis for years now. They have always had great food. We visited the new location last night, in Albertville. This location has a little more seating, I don't think too much more though. We arrived with a party of 4. The new building is beautiful. They informed us it was a 30 to 40 minute wait..... not a problem. The place was PACKED! We waited about 30 minutes before being seated, WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!! We had the fried pickles and the onion rings for appetizers. They were so delicious and the onion rings are HOUSE MADE!!! 😋 Yummy!!! I got the coconut shrimp basket and the red beans and rice; always a favorite of mine. I can't remember what everyone else ordered because I was bust stuffing my face. Everyone loved their meals though and kept commenting how wonderful it was. My son and his wife were visiting from out of town and said they can't find good food like that where they live and said it was the best meal he has had in a long time. Our server was Ansley. She was absolutely AH-MAZ-ING! I would definitely recommend asking for her. She was so kind and had such a wonderful smile. Even though they were at max capacity, our drinks never ran short, the service never lacked and all of our food was hot and fresh! Ansley definitely gave us the customer service that is lacking nowadays. She was just perfect! The establishment is new and clean. The table was clean when we sat down, the bathrooms were kept up during the rush, and whatever they are doing, it's helping things runs very smoothly! We will definitely be back to the new location and I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Oh..... they also have a beautiful outside seating area.

Service is outstanding and the food was good, not very authentic, but good. Everything is clean but the tables are a little too close together. I had the shrimp and crawfish etouffee which was good, but a little bland and not nearly enough shrimp and crawfish, and too much rice. The bread pudding however, was delicious.

WOW!! My husband and I live in Florida and we were recently up to Alabama to visit family. Our first night there we had dinner at Papa Dubi's and were thoroughly delighted! Yes, there's a long wait line - but that's because the food is so good!! It's totally worth that wait or you wouldn't be seeing those lines! This is super fresh, well-made Louisiana-style food - in abundance!! There were 6 of us at dinner that night and everyone ordered something different...and every single dish was excellent! We seriously love our family but I think we'd make the 10 hour drive just to have dinner again at Papa Dubi's!! You would make a killing if you opened up another Papa Dubi's near Lakewood Ranch, Florida -- hint hint!!

We brought our mom to the restaurant for her 85th birthday 🎉🎂 She had a good time. The reason for the 3 stars, I'll explain Service was really slow and finilly got our orders taken My great nephew ordered the poboy sandwich he pulled a long hair out. We told the waitress and then the manager came right away. Offered to fix him something else but he declined. But they took his meal off no charge. All the other food was great I got the catfish plate was great This was my first visit to the restaurant Very nice new restaurant

Great food! Poor restaurant design. We had never been here before so we asked alot of questions about menu. She was very helpful! But you have to yell just to place your order. Our food was really good. Worth the wait. The restaurant is a minimalist design. Concrete floors and sheetrock walls and ceilings. So the sound with a full house like tonight was quite high. No softer materials to absorb the sound of all of the people talking. It reminded me if my middle school cafeteria. I can say that we will be back due to the food being so good but probably takeout instead of the dining room. Maybe consider some decorative sound panels or Acoustical ceiling.
