Sweet Thyme Kitchen

When I asked Misty at Sweet Thyme if we could make a cinnamon roll cake for my son's groom's cake, her reply was: "I haven’t made one of these, but I don’t see why I couldn’t." YES! And make it she did! Misty was a delight to communicate with, and the cake was ready on time, beautiful to look at and DELICIOUS! Misty, thank you for taking one more thing off of this Mother of the Groom's plate! I highly recommend Misty at Sweet Thyme when you need something done well and on time and to be delicious and beautiful.

I have ordered a few family meals from Sweet Thyme Kitchen. The owners and workers have always been super sweet and accommodating, even with last minute orders…not to mention the meals are always made fresh and are absolutely delicious, even my picky children enjoy every meal! Their level of cleanliness in their shop and care for the quality of their goods is immeasurable. We love Sweet Thyme Kitchen and are so very grateful that they are in our community. We look forward to many more years to come with their business and will continue to utilize them for our bakery and family to-go meal needs.

There are those of us who consider food an essential experience. We enjoy varied, interesting, and complex flavors that work together in new and unexpected ways. We've learned that food is something that you can touch, feel, smell, hear, and obviously taste. Sweet Thyme Kitchen, is for everyone but it is a haven for people who enjoy experiencing food. The things that set sweet time apart are the time, care, and thought that they put into their food. I find myself impressed by the list of things that they won't do. They won't use a delivery service because they cannot guarantee that the experience that they mean for you to have won't be interrupted or ruined by poor delivery or the time that it takes to get to you. They don't purchase from gigantic corporate food service providers but instead buy fresh, local ingredients every single day. Their food isn't just nutrients for your body to process. It is art. Their care and attention to detail and the joy that exists inside of this little cafe is something that has to be experienced to really understand what makes Sweet Thyme Kitchen the best restaurant in Abilene.

The poached pear salad, chicken salad, key lime pie, and customer service were EXCELLENT!! Katy at the register was so courteous, friendly, and accommodating - a real hospitality professional! She managed a long line of waiting customers so smoothly and efficiently. These things combined helped compensate for the sparse air conditioning and hard, tiny stools at the high top tables. I wish we could have sat at a regular table.

The food is decent but a couple of times the owner gets snippy with customers. If she’s getting overwhelmed with the cooking in the baking and the managing, she can hire extra help. Remember it was not that long ago restaurants closed down because of Covid, maybe don’t treat customers like they they should act grateful their allowed to bring their business.

Abilene never failed to surprise me! in downtown area at 1246 N 6 St. there this place called sweet thyme kitchen i was so amazed with this place, seems like i’m stepping back on my grandma’s kitchen!!! i tried their cinnamon roll and i can’t forget it’s taste and made a legit mark and shaken my hippocampus!!!! place pretty clean and cozy and people were welcoming and friendly. i am coming back for sure and hey 5 star is not enough let me make it 10!
