Bbq Wagon

First Visit. Jonathan took my order, allowed a double order of Baked Beans instead 2 different sides, and delivered it to my car because of my mobility issues. The outside eating areas are super cute, overlooking the River. The portion of the Rib Platter was enough to have leftovers. The ribs were pull-apart tender and delicious; the Hush Puppies were different, but good. Do be aware that they only take cash (no cards.) Still worth going there. I was really impressed.

Nice rustic BBQ restaurant. Friendly and helpful crew. Restaurant is clean and sanitized regularly by staff. The BBQ sandwiches are huge and delicious and the cole slaw is so very good. I had the combo and its really enough food for two people. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is top notch. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. This restaurant is located next to the river and there is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your meal and take in the scenery. I left full and very satisfied.

We got two rib platters to go. The ribs were tender and cooked well. They could have used a bit more seasoning or rub. But reasonably tasty. The hush puppies were frozen, store bought. Not what I’d expect from a BBQ joint. The coleslaw was much too finely ground and soupy. The baked beans were not too spicy and very good. Overall, it was okay to supplement the meal we had already prepared back at our cabin.

We went in for dinner, sad to say it was terrible. I am accustomed to bar-b-que with texture whether it is pulled or chopped. This was put through a grinder apparently, in addition to that it tasted as though it had been cooked in an oven instead of on an open fire, the sides were mediocre at best. Being from Georgia I believe in southern hospitality however, no matter how much I smiled I could not get a smile from the young man taking our order. The woman whom I suppose either owned or managed the place never smiled or greeted us either. On the sign outside they had scripture apparently showing they are people of faith, however I would have never known since they didn't treat me as though they had the "Joy of the Lord" living in their hearts. Hopefully this was an off night and if they even read my review they will try a little harder at being courteous and pleasant to visitors. John 13:34-3534 “A new command I give you: Love one another.
