The Blue Onion

Go here often and always order the Al Pastor wrap (shrimp) and it is delicious. However last night for reasons unknown to myself, there was a big change in my dish. The wrap came back looking "thin" and when I opened it up I noticed the shrimp were small and sparse. Every time I've gone in the past they've used bigger sized shrimp, large perhaps, so there were fewer but it had more girth. The taste was good so I let it go but to be honest, if they are going to use small shrimp they are only hurting their own legacy. (violin playing) Staff was nice, food was good but shrimp size is very important to me. I know everything has gotten expensive, that's just life. I'll probably go back one more time and hopefully the shrimp things was a temporary thing. My wife's pizza and humus was on point and she really enjoyed it. Service was quick and friendly.

I had the side salad, a personal pizza and a bottled water. I asked for a glass of ice. The glass was dirty! Yuk. I asked for a to-go cup and drank the water from that. All in all, the service was good and the food was okay. I had not been to the Blue Onion in years. From first glance the place could use a makeover and menu redo. They have several good menu options, it just appears a bit worn. The prices were good.

It used to be a great place to order your dinner. They have change their service a lot. We ordered tortilla soup, was send with one nacho chip, we also ordered a shrimp and feta salad, well no dressing. And no utensils for any. When we called, Jacob stated he had put everything on it. Only reason we didn't go back and returned it, was because after day of work, we wanted to get home and rest. We didn't notice anything missing till we were home. Jacob also stated they reason he might off forgot was because they were too busy with too many clients at the time of our order. I guess they forger we are paying for what we ordered, not asking for freebies. I guess that's the reason they make mistakes, because they are overwhelmed with work, and can't handle it. We would do you a big favor, we don't mind driving to McAllen if we ever crave what we ordered.
