The Chippery

Great fried seafood, everything is fried to order, and the seafood (unlike some other places) taste great on its own and there is no need to drench in sauces. We ordered the coconut shrimp, jalapeno peppers, the Titanic, the oceantastic and the hush puppies. Personally, I did not like the hush puppies – too doughy and not much flavor. The jalapeno poppers are more like a fried dumpling/mini empanada, not very good. Stick to the seafood and you cannot go wrong. Huge portion sizes, each combo platter is more than enough for two people.

Am not sure if management has changed but the food has definitely changed, and so has the kitchen crew. This was the 3rd time I ordered and got really disappointed with my order. I got somewhat burnt/over dry fried clam strips and my chips had no seasonings, no flavor other than the plain fried soggy potato slices. I love Chippery but this may be my last time ordering from them. The 2 stars 🌟 is just because I've enjoyed patronage there for years, otherwise I'd have given a 1 star. Please improve.

The food is very tasty. I don't know if I scan the menu well enough but I got the fried fish fillets however they were not the cod fillets I was looking for. I guess I should have just asked. Everything else was good the service was friendly the chips were very tasty in the style that they make them. Next time I go I will check if they have the Scottish style.

I have had fish & chips all over the world. I have had it as far as the ocean shores of the UK all the way to point pleasant beach NJ. The name of this place implies you may have some of the best fish & Chips you've ever had but unfortunately that is where the excitement ends. The quality of the food here is not even on par with some of the most mediocre fried Chinese food I have had before. In fact, this place looks like a repurposed Chinese food take out place. The fried Cod is definitely not Cod, it looks like typical late night takeout whiting fish aka lowest quality lowest cost, this is what you get for a $13 platter of fish and chips. Cod should be thick, meaty, like a steak. This was so thin, it seemed like fresh-water backyard fish. No, in fact that would be better! What was served seemed rubbery in feel, texture, and taste. It was truly rubbish and unlike any "fish" I have ever tasted. Do not go here. You are warned. Also, they do not charge you the correct amount on your order. They will round your bill up and tip themselves. Do the math next time you order here, your math probably won't add up. They over charge you and look at you like you're wrong for calling them out as if they had no idea what kind of scheme they're running. "What went wrong?" I made the mistake of walking in. If you, the person reading this, think the food is good here, you have low standards. If you think anything taste good here, you must not enjoy the tastes life has to offer much. Below quality of traditional Chinese food take out. Below quality of 4 am NYC Food. Worst I ever had. Oil Logged, no flavor. Mystery Fish Meat. STAY AWAY Change the name of your restaurant it's very misleading to people who have had traditional "fish and chips" from the uk. Call your place something more appropriate like The Sewer.
