Jim Dandy

The breaded tenderloin had more breading than pork. It was an old school tenderloin like when I was growing up. Didn't care for it at all. A tenderloin needs moist pork inside thick enough to taste. The pork was pounded too thin and was dry and chewy. The grilled tenderloin was slightly better. On the plus side they did wrap everything in foil instead of styrofoam so points for that.

Welcoming staff are what makes this restaurant a home-outside-of-home feel for downtown Tipton. Always hiring new & friendly faces for students in the summer as well who want Jim Dandy as a first job which I think is wonderful. Super community oriented, delicious diner food, and amazing pies at a great price. My family and I use curbside to go often for dinner. My friends and I love the breakfast bar after long night shifts.

The quality of the food was absolutely trash. Not only did they not customize the order correctly, everything taste like there has been no seasoning AT ALL. Every peice of food has absolutely no taste. They had to have cooked everything is boiling water and that is it. If I could give 0 stars I would. Whoever the actual owner is needs to go in to their restaurant and do any bit of quality control of the food. The corn I attempted to eat was so bad I could have chewed on the silverware and it might have tasted better. The salad I got was wrong, they didn't remove the scallions and 90% of the lettuce was inedible. Either it was so old it was entirely flaccid or it was roots of the lettuce. I am guessing that someone entirely forgot I was supposed to get garlic bread, I got toast. If you would even call it that. It was only cooked on one side. The other side was just bread completely soft, fully uncooked. An entire handful (and I mean I grabbed it with my hand and it filled it) of the salad was in the bag. On top of this the French dressing had leaked out on to the top of my Mariana sauce for the spaghetti. EVERYTHING I ordered today came out absolutely awful. I have never had an experience this bad with Jim Dandy.

We were on our way home and just happened to see the restaurant. There used to be one in Frankfort where we went many times after church. Lunch special with salad bar and hot food was very good. Hard to find good salad bars open anymore. We would go back. Great service and it was lunch on a Friday.

After waiting an hour and ten minutes for food for two of us and still not receding our order, we finally left. Absolutely poorly trained wait staff with zero customer service skills and Interpersonal relation skills. Didn’t offer anything else to us after we asked for the waiter to check our order over 30 Minutes. Stop left is sitting there another 30 minutes- again no checking in, no offering anything even grandees while we waited. Tons of staff, so it wasn’t a staffing issue. In fact most were just hanging out in the wait staff prep area
