Breadfern Bakery

Coffee was great and not lazily made. They had a wide range of food in both solid and liquid forms. I mostly purchased items that are less than $10 as I wanted to try a bit of everything. The bagel with cream cheese was a bit tough but the bread itself was nicely seasoned. The mushroom and chicken pie could be warmer but still tasty. And the Lemon Lamington had a great balance between all the flavours. Overall happy with my purchases and keen to try more. Just a bit hesitant to pay upwards of 10.

The barista plays an important role in bringing out the the best flavors in your coffee. Sadly a lazy one can stuff up a great pour even at good coffee shop like this one. Ordered 2 of the same kinds. Got served sub standard coffees with the shot spilled over and then covered with another cup. Even noticed the guy topping up the spilled one by sneaking out some from the other cup prior to pouring milk and hence stuffing them both. Lost all energy to be driving 15 mins for my weekend coffee from this place. Hoping they get back to their usual standards soon.

July 22 update: The takeaway flat white we had was terrible, bland and too milky. He made it in a couple of minutes. Quite disappointing. Can't recommend this. Fine for bread and pastries. May21 update: Still great. Had nice cakes and almond croissant. Also got a loaf of dark rye sourdough to go with soup. Nov20: It's true their croissants were great, crispy and the outside and soft on the inside. So good we decided to try their berry lamington and sourdough bread--both were amazing.

This bakery shop offering so many type of good bread and awesome pastry plus dessert. Today for afternoon treat, I chose rhubarb and raspberry pastry 🥮 with my piccolo. First talk about the yummy pastry; those caramelization around the pastry edges was perfections! Texture was light, flakey and crispy! Filling was on point! Tanginess from rhubarb and little sour from raspberry was perfectly balanced with sweetness from sugar syrup that brushed the outside layer of this particular pastry before baked Lao it performed nice crust! Amazing ! Coffee was powered by Toby’s Estate.
