Top-tier breakfast place! Wide range of top quality breads -- some of which are incorporated into their breakfast dishes.
The beef brisket was delicious! Could use less sauce, honestly, so that you can taste the beef and bread better. The mushroom melt was surprisingly rich! Different kinds of cheese and mushrooms, and some jalapenos for some kick.
Best to go early in the morning to get ahead of the long queue, especially if you wanted to dine-in. Lots of 1P-free and 2P-ticketed parking spots around the area.

It's a sandwich with a lot of contents. You can enjoy various flavors. My recommendation is a sandwich that starts with bacon. I had a good meal. I haven't tried sandwiches in many places, but I can recommend it right away. It was a good meal. Thank you.

On a search for the best almond croissant, I went to Chippendale today. Brickfields , a hustling bustling busy corner cafe is located in the heart of Chiopendale and had lots of outdoor seating for take out customers (?). Since I only bought an almond croissant, my wait was not long at all.
For the price of $6.50 (or was it $7.20? Can't remember), it certainly was not the best looking almond croissant. It came with nice amount of sliced almonds on top and the almond paste was only inside. Also the time I picked it up was close to noon, so it wasn't crispy fresh.
Will have to give another try earlier the day.

First time visit to this Bakery Cafe and is one of the best in the Chippendale area. I just seen some reviews and thought of giving a try. I had Almond Croissant, Toasted Croissant with Cheddar Marjoram and Tomatoes. Best part of the Turmeric Latte which is my best ever I had in my life. Must visit Cafe in Chippendale.

I feel very sad giving Brickfields a 1 star review. I’ve waxed lyrical about this place to so many people.
But it has to be done. Brickfields almond croissants were a thing of legend. People would come from all around Sydney to Brickfields to have these almond croissants, and I was one of those. For a time I worked in an office in Chippendale and on some Friday mornings I would walk over to Brickfields, sit on the wonderful bench by the window and savour Sydney’s best almond croissant while sipping an expertly made coffee (featuring Mecca beans).
Sadly this legend is not just dead, it has been killed. I went there a week ago and I was shocked when I saw the appearance of the croissants. They had that limp, pale look of supermarket croissants. My friend decided it was too risky, and he passed on getting one. If only I had been as wise. Perhaps drunk on memories, or maybe just in denial, I ordered an almond croissant. It was terrible. Exactly as limp as it looked, there was no flaky ness or crunch. The filling was flavourless. This is the worst almond croissant I’ve had in years. How the mighty have fallen. I pray this was only a one off fluke, but my experience was bad enough I’m scared to try one again.
The venue is still an absolutely wonderful space, and they do a great coffee. Maybe I just got unlucky? Maybe they will recover? I really hope so. I would love for Brickfields to regain and retain its status as the premiere almond croissant in town.

One of the best bakeries in Sydney, serving up fresh baked goods every morning. Their hot cross bun was quite nice, very fresh and full of flavour. Service is always very friendly and warm
Highly recommend their mushroom melt sandwich

Small and cosy bakery at Chippendale. We ordered takeaway an Almond Croissant (delicious however slightly burnt), Chocolate Croissant (wish it had more chocolate) and Chocolate cake with Kaya (moist and not too sweet which is great). Was going to order a coffee but they don't serve almond milk. Overall ok.

First time visitor and sadly my last. Ordered a chocolate croissant, took one bite and had to ask the staff for another one as I assumed it was about 1 week old. Took a bite with the fresh one and again was at least 3-5 days old. Baked fresh daily they say, highly unlikely. Would not return, save your money, goto Coles and grab yourself a clearance croissant, would be fresher and definitely cheaper!!
