Ihop

Food was fine, but the place was desperately understaffed. Saw only 2 waitresses, but thankfully not large crowds. Also, couldn't have had more than one chef - i arrived about 12:15 by myself, ordered around 12:45 - the poor young ladies were running back and forth, trying to take orders, clean tables and on of they had to run to front to both take payments and try to have time to get seating for those waiting. The place was never more than 1/3 filled, but for 2 waitresses, with one trying to get new customers seated. and run the tickets and cash, and pick up & deliver the food, was WAY too much. From my entry to exit, I was there for close to 2 3/4 hours, and it was not the fault of the 2 waitresses or, if true, the one chef.

The server was the only decent thing about this place. He was polite and you could tell he genuinely felt bad that he had to comp two meals that we ordered. This is about the second worst restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. Not the second worst iHop…the second worst restaurant period. They brought biscuits and gravy to our table with ice cold gravy over the top of it…and when I say ice cold, I mean just like it came out of the fridge. When it went back to the kitchen, they microwaved the whole plate, which nullified the eggs over easy we had ordered because they were now nuked far past over easy. The second time, the gravy was still cold, so it had to be taken back and nuked again. I had ordered sides of bacon…cardboard is what I got, both in taste and texture. It was absolutely terrible. Again, the server was polite and I don’t blame any of this on him, but I will not be back to this place. It’s a good thing they comped the two meals they screwed up. $12 for one biscuit with ice cold gravy, rubbery sausage and half cooked hash browns isn’t what I’d call fair. Never again. Makes me question iHop anywhere if this is acceptable quality.

On this particular day the pancakes were a little flat, but tasty. Like many restaurants, staffing has been a challenge and procedures from the before-times have had to be adjusted, but they are open for dine-in and service has been satisfactory. The food has been fine although a smidge different in presentation with new staff.
