Elixir Espresso Bar

Wonderful atmosphere with skylights and natural lighting, superb coffee and desserts, amazing crêpes, reasonably priced, friendly and efficient service. Crêpes are served on sushi roll plates and are filling and delicious. We tried both the chicken pesto (with fresh basil leaves inside as well - a nice touch) and turkey crêpes, and the Mexican mocha made with fresh ground Mexican chocolate. The Turmeric Latte was also excellent as was the cappuccino, all made with their own blended Screaming Goat coffee. And, there is a dessert case to die for with a huge variety of exquisitely presented treats. Staff were friendly, extremely efficient and communicative. There are three different separate spaces to sit: the main dining area near the bar, a narrow side nook, and a back open air porch away from the street. There is a very comfortable sofa, and quite wonderfully and whimsically, one of the tables has a swing :-) And, it's all wonderfully clean and airy.

This place is awesome. This is a Espresso, gelato. Coffee bar. The place is small with tables on the inside and out. Or you can sit in the courtyard and just relax and enjoy your drink. They serve crepes. There are open face sandwiches as well. We had an Afrogato and a open faced sandwich with arugula and egg.This was our second visit and we are looking forward to our third.

Perfect place to grab a quick - and delicious - cup ‘o joe and maybe a cup of gelato or a pastry. It’s in a historic building, The Marston Department store, and a lovely vintage 1890 space. You can visit the Marston House in Balboa Park. Not really a place for people to linger as there are just a few chairs and tables. Lots of people from the building stop. and then take the vintage elevator up to their office. I love the feel of the place. They roast their own bean. Nice to have such a cute place on the redeveloping Broadway/C Street area of downtown SD.

I had breakfast here literally everyday for 4 days. I recommend the turkey crepe, it’s absolutely delicious. Espresso and Americanos are rich and full bodied. I had the hush crepe as well, that was good too. Service is excellent, young guy there is courteous and quick to service. The peaceful atmosphere and aesthetics are cherries on top.

Not the sort of coffee shop to come and sit for an hour with a laptop. This is very much appreciated in and out place. The lady that helped me (young Russian lady) was extremely nice and friendly. The espresso was pretty close to perfect. I visited several times in a few days, and the coffee was consistently great.
