Been coming here even before it was "PJ's" But they've kept up the great service, and the food is still amazing. Portions are generous, which is lucky since I don't fill easy. Since becoming Pj's they have started a 'Loyalty card' of sorts. After visiting and purchasing 5 meals, you get the 6th free. (So long as the 6th meal is equal or lesser value than one that's been noted on the card) Love their fish and chips. Their coleslaw is excellent, and their tartar sauce tastes homemade(maybe it is?) Parking can be a bit iffy, with the businesses around it and the small lot, but usually I don't have a problem with finding a spot to get my food to-go I Look forward to coming here for the foreseeable future, and trying new things from the menu.

Fantastic seafood and burgers. This diner has been transformed by PJ. The diner is pleasant and clean; oil is clean so the seafood tastes Fantastic. Slaw is tasty, samosas were a tasty surprise. The fish was very good. And a delicious real ice cream milkshakes!

P. J’s Diner is one of the finest fish and chips restaurants in Sacramento. What I love about P.J’s is the quality of the fish & chips and the no-frills setting. The tartar sauce was fresh and unlike any I have ever had! The restaurant was very clean and the 2 employees were very warm and friendly! The milkshakes are awesome too!

The ambiance is nothing to write or email home about but the food is. We had the fish and calamari and they were great. The fries are good, the portions are good, the people are nice, and the prices are reasonable too.

food is great, service was excellent, very clean establishment. I asked the owner regarding the last 3 identical reviews regarding the size of the oysters, the owner was very obliging and showed me the oysters which were bettered and came prepacked frozen and there by no means small as far as oysters goes. I ended up having the oyster combination with fries and it was delicious 😋. Its my new to go place for a meal. yummy!

Amazing service. Was taken here back in October as I heard it was a good spot in Sacramento, that was under new management or ownership now. Fish plate was hot and served to great crisp and crunch. Seasoning of the fish were well and not overboard. As I was enjoying my meal, the owner came and checked on us two or three times as well! Talked to us very down to earth, and had a friendly conversation with us too. This will be my new go to fish and chip spot.

I was looking for a quick place to eat for lunch. I love good ol’ fashion cheeseburger. The food came out hot and fresh including, the vegetables. The owner is very respectful & kind. I would definitely eat here again.

So I got the family pack of fish and chips a 10 pack. The peace of fish is so big we have lunch for the next day it's not greasy 1 peace of fish I was full from. The owner was so nice too he even helped me to the truck with it. The sauce for it I think they make it, was the best cocktail sauce. I got some because my husband likes it I don't but I liked it from here the tartar sauce was super good too. The prices are good especially for nowadays. I'm sold I'm not going anywhere but here for my fish and chips. I also got the poppers, and chicken strips for us to try they were good too. I always like poppers with cream cheese they were pretty big too. If you don't want to cook and don't have lots of money just get the 1 piece fish combo. You'll be full on quality food.

Been here before and after new management. Fish is good but the rest is subpar. The chips are thin frozen french fries. And I agree with everyone else the tartar sauce is soupy. I was disappointed with the chocolate milkshake— not thick and more milk than chocolate.
