Blimpie

Was in this area so my husband and I went here for a sub. He had tuna with sweet peppers, lettuce, tomato and oil and vinegar. I had a roast beef with provalone and tomato and a little bit of mayo. Rolls were fresh, meats were good. Service was excellent. The location is in a downtown area. Parking could be difficult. All in all it was a good visit with good food. Sorry no pictures, we were hungry.

Ok, so I almost never write reviews on anything, however, this place deserves it. I LOVE Italian style subs, and try them basically all over. So, when I was in town visiting family and heard that I had to try this Blimpie, I was totally for it. First of all, right when you walk in, the place is old school and clean. Walking up to the sandwich counter, there are two people, and these guys are pros. First, they take your order (a Blimpie Best for me), and they cut the bread, and then thin slice and load on all the meats and cheese right there in front of you directly onto the sandwich. This part is key- no pre-sliced meats waiting around, this is from the slicer to your sub. I recommend topping with "the Blimpie way" with tomato, lettuce, onion, oil, vinegar and oregano. Of course, there are tons of other options etc. While there are tons of places, from chains to pizza joints, to get subs, this place makes a truly loaded sub, fresh cut to order right in front of you. I get it's just sandwich meats, but the way it's assembled, dressed and prepared makes a real difference, and it's noticeable here. At the same time, it feels local because it is. The two people always behind the counter (owners I assume) are so nice, amazing and make a great sandwich, and all while making you feel at home. I live way out of town, but look forward to coming here every time I can.
