Came here with some friends who were in town and we throughly enjoyed the food here. It was honestly the best fried catfish I’ve eaten. I’ve never had such flakey and sweet catfish before with no hint of the fishiness that comes with catfish. The paired coleslaw cut into the salt and balanced out the whole thing. Everyone else seemed like they enjoyed their food since plates were cleaned out. I’m not much of a drinker or into sports, but I’d come back for just the food.

Love this place. Passing through Richmond on Dec 23, 2023 on a cross country road trip . Coming from Alabama. Haven't been to Poes in 7 or 8 years. Excited about bringing my daughter and her boyfriend in with me. Always loved this place

Debbie was a wonderful waitress and the food was great. Got to play darts. Great atmosphere....highly recommend tgis place. Tie it in with a walk in the park.

Enjoyed our visit tremendously. The food was excellent. Highly recommend the fried oysters and the prime rib sandwich. Alexis our bartender was very welcoming and made us feel like locals. Place had a great atmosphere. Packed with locals and everyone knew everyone - and made us feel welcome. Can’t wait to come back again.

Favorite place to get fried oysters. They are hands down the BEST in RVA. I’ve also had some tasty Rueben sandwiches from them, as well. Truly a great place to relax and enjoy some great food. They also have some great mozzarella wedges.

Exceptional and attentive service. Food was great and the menu has something for everyone, fries were just a little soggy. The restaurant was surprisingly very clean too

Great little spot. I've eaten here a few times. The Fried Oyster Platter was point on. The Cajun remoulade is smack with the oysters. Even taste delightful with the house fries. The salad itself is amazing. Everything was fresh about the salad and big slices to fill you more, and the House Made Raseberry Tarragon Vinaigrette splashed on the salad, amazing!! Will continue to order from here in the near future.

Not only was the food delicious, it came out fast and hot. The serves was wonderful and intensive. The corned beef cabbage rolls, catfish bites and fried oysters are a chief's kiss. definitely will be back. Oh, and the Raven runner to wash it all down yummy!

Great hangout to relax and not be overwhelmed by too many youth ruining rhe experience. Beautiful porch seating area to watch traffic and passerby as you enjoy the day or night. Burger was made to perfection and the fries were seasoned delightfully. Friendly and courteous staff on hand.
