Great French restuarant. Food is amazing and the venue is romantic and authentic. The food is well presented and most of the staff are French so gives you full experience. Unfortunately they closing soon as owner is retiring.

This is the only restaurant we've found in Reigate that feels like proper silver service. It is a rare gem. They have been going strong for so many years and the reason they have lasted while so many others have come and gone is because they believe in service. I mean by this, proper customer service. They greet you at the door with grace, take your coats and hang them up, seat you at your table and put your napkin on your lap for you, then they treat you respectfully and give you time to read the menu. They are accommodating with food choices, careful to please you at every turn. The food comes, in a slow French fashion (so you don't get indigestion from being rushed), and is as you would expect ...utterly delicious. Then the evening is paced as such until you leave, when they escort you out with your coats. One expects it to be expensive. It is. It should be. You need to book in advance using their website. I hope you have a similar experience.

The food was lovely, the service good and friendly. Shame they don't make their Kia with the correct wine like a French restaurant should!

Stunning food and always pleasant staff. We take a lot of our visitors and friends there and it has always been enjoyed. As a side dish their potatoes dauphinois must not be missed. Small menu changed seasonally with everything cooked to perfection. A delight

My wife is vegan and I am non-vegan, we both had excellent meals. We felt really well looked after, the staff were genuinely pleasant and thoughtful. Lovely proper French cuisine. Will definitely return and recommend it to others.

Fabulous place to eat. Great food and drink with an excellent range of choice to cater for most. Nice adequate serving sizes without being either mean or oversized. Exceptional, friendly service, will definitely make a return visit. Spot on!

I dined at La Barbe last week after a long absence. I remembered the food being excellent then and my latest visit didn't disappoint. As the only authentic French restaurant for miles, it lives up to the expectation of the French flavours on the menu, including snails, but it is an option. Otherwise there is plenty on the list that would satisfy food lovers. The place is cosy and comfortable with attentive staff to attend to your needs. There are separate opened cubicles for an air of intimacy if you wish for a tete a tete with that special someone. Prices for set meals and drinks are reasonable. It is good for any occasion, but it is best to book to avoid being disappointed. Enjoy.

Great surroundings, service at a pace that worked, food almost met expectations. Between two of us the Trout dumplings starter and Paris-Brest were superb. The soup portion seemed incomplete and the chocolate pudding with the Mandarin sorbet didn't work.

This is incredible value, exquisite food. Three courses of top quality food for £37. Cheese course for additional £9 and amazing cheeses. The camembert brulee entree was fantastic, as was the roast duck main. Also tried the wild boar terrine for entree. Superb. Service was impeccable, but not pretentious. Serves were generous. Real food, done well.
