Vernekar's Goan Fish Curry

On 29th dec'23, I had lunch with my family at this place. Decided this place after a lot of options just to have the taste of Goan food. I must say I am not disappointed and rather it was a surprise to me that in pune, many people don't know about this place. ###Food - 4.5/5, Welcomed by kokum sharvat. Ordered surmai and pomfret thali along with bombill and prawns rava fry. With curry, you can choose the fish you want. Each item was delicious along with the side dishes. I noticed that the tanginess and red color was less in the curry nevertheless it was tasteful. Try surmai thali a must. Overall highly recommend and a must visit place. ###Ambiance - 4/5, Nothing fancy, you go there to enjoy your food. The owner has kept it simple and manageable. Family outing place where you can enjoy your food. ###Service - 3.5/5, Although service was prompt and quick. But the let down was when you ordered Bhakri and served chapati, when questioned service captain said bhakri was finished. It should be informed in advance before taking the order or an apology before the food is serverd. These points score when you want to convert a first time customer to a regular ones and mouth publicity. ###Value of money - 4.5/5, certainly recommended for pocket friendly and delicious food. ##Improvements: Service guys should let the customer know in advance if any item is not available. ##Parking: Available : yes.

What a delicious surprise 😋 Just saw this restaurant randomly and went inside. And the result was awesome. This is one of the best sea food I've tasted outside Goa. I'll describe briefly about food that we ordered 1) Prawns thali : I had prawn fry and prawn curry. Ample quantity. Prawn curry was out of the world. Absolutely amazing 2) Surmai thali : Surmai size was bit small but was very tasty. Curry was super 3)chicken thali : Not upto the mark. Didn't like it much. Whenever I'll visit Pune will definitely come back.

Amazing place to grab dinner , it’s not fancy ! Has plastic chair and tables but the food is fantastic . We had fish thali , batter fried prawns & fish curry was simply amazing ! Also their prawn biryani is smthing to definitely have . One of my favourite thing was the Portuguese dessert , serradura which was mind blowing ! It was so good that we even took 4 parcels to enjoy at home .

Vernekar's located in the heart of Karve Nagar, is one of the best authentic Goan Food style you can find in Pune!! Spacious seating, on toes service, briefing the menu is apt & ambience is awesome! Entering this Hotel, you will feel typical Goan Vibes throughout from Artefacts & Menu Cards etc! Welcome Drink was refreshing, Fish & prawns were served steamy hot, wholesome quantity & worth the price for sure! Prawns curry had a nice blend & freshly cooked up! Vernekars' Goan Fish Curry has some of the most delicious and authentic Goan seafood I have ever tasted. The fresh seafood was mixed with the perfect blend of spices. The extensive menu offered a wide variety of options, having everything from prawns to pomfret, making it a haven for seafood lovers. While the food was outstanding, I was somewhat disappointed by the service. The staff seemed a bit rude and inattentive, rushing guests through their meals. This hurried approach took away from the overall dining experience and made it feel less welcoming. The restaurant's beachy ambiance was charming and added a pleasant touch to the dining experience. However, I noticed a fair number of bugs buzzing around, which distracted from the otherwise relaxed atmosphere. Despite these minor setbacks, the fantastic flavors and diverse menu options make it worth a visit for those seeking an authentic taste of Goa.

Definitely definitely will recommend. Although a non vegetarians paradise but if you are eggetarian you can try their egg thali. Vegetarian thali is also available,we didn't order it though. Egg Thali nd Fish Thali were too good. Thali Portion is also good enough for 1 people. Do try both the desserts in the menu. They r out of the world.
