I frequent many of the Subway sandwich shops throughout Plattsburgh, however, on this particular day I was at Champlain Center [ Plattsburgh mall, for those who might be reading my review and not be aware or know of? ] I approached the counter with no greeting; [ how are you today, or a simple hello? ] after all as a customer, I’m proving towards your paycheck. And so I was asked ‘what do you need today? ] well, honestly that could be anything? A winning lottery ticket, a new car, dinner and a movie... I don’t feel that asking a customer ‘what they need today’ is appropriate. A proper greeting would’ve been: ‘ How are you today, thanks for stopping by, or Hi, may I help you’ something to seem more of a greeting rather than being felt like it was a ‘task’ to wait on me..... I told the Subway associate; her name tag said ‘Sierra’ that I’d like a sub and told her what kind of bread I desired as well as my choice of meat and cheese. I noticed she was wearing gloves and began to make my sandwich. In the meantime, while wearing her gloves she turned around and started opening up the coolers that house the fresh meat and condiments within her reach behind the counter. She touched several items, and then took her hands and ‘brushed-off’ the cutting board/counter where the sandwiches are prepared, meanwhile wearing the SAME gloves that she began preparing my sandwich with! Why she even did this was beyond me because she never ended up taking anything out of the cooler? Then she slid my sandwich down the line to add vegetables and condiments to it all the while wearing the SAME exact gloves that she touched everything with?! [ a bad case for cross-contamination at its finest] I was bothered by the fact that those gloves literally wiped down or wiped off the cutting board and touched handles on the cooler doors behind her and she thought nothing of it? The thought didn’t even enter her mind to change her gloves?! Upon witnessing this... I told her never mind, I don’t want the sandwich and I did NOT offer her any explanation because she needs to THINK about what she did while handling a customers sandwich/food.... I will NOT ever eat at this particular Subway ever again!
