Luby's

Covid is scary, I know, we all know.... but this location made me feel safe to be around that many people in one place. The manager was very attentive on making sure people were spread apart enough to enjoy their lunch. And he didn’t let us just stand around he helped! The lady who gave us our salad greeted me and my family so kindly it was super nice to hear a joyous voice. The food was delicious to us I know I had square fish but I love square fish Nice and clean restaurant, kudos!

Well I had to stop by one last time before this location is closed. I’m sorry to say that I was adult disappointed. The main course and bread were mediocre while the sides were the sides were great as usual. Now the service was horrible. I waited 15 minutes for a straw and butter for my rolls until I finally got up and found some on my own. I wasn’t offered a single refill either. It is definitely time for Luby’s to close its doors.

We placed a holiday catering order for our students at school. I went to pick it up and it didn't feel like 15 pounds of turkey. We checked when we got back to the school and it was definitely less. Last year we ordered less turkey and it was 2 trays. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. I explained we received only 1 tray and it couldn't be 15 pounds. He was nice but immediately dismissive. Without even checking or pretending to check, he told me it was definitely was 15 pounds in the one tray and they even gave us a pound extra and if I wanted to, I could buy more. We just simply weren't going to buy more. Over an hour later I get a call from an employee asking if I had recently picked up an order and if I had gotten 1 tray or 2. I said just 1 and she apologized and said it was supposed to be 2. She was very nice and even delivered it to us. But the over confident manager was nowhere to be seen or heard from. I think it is very telling that even after I pointed out a major issue to him, he didn't even care enough to admit his own mistake and attempt to correct it. By the time the turkey arrived, we had already prepared all the plates and were passing them out. It was far too late and at that point it wasn't really even needed because we couldn't really do anything with it. They gave us 2 free pies which was nice but not really needed and certainly wasn't enough to make up for this mess.
