Waitrose

The staff at Waitrose Okehampton are outstanding, especially Kay in Customer Services. Today I had to do some John Lewis returns, sort dry cleaning and do a weekly shop. Kay went above and beyond - she sorted my returns, wrote them up, found packaging for them, printed the address and gave me receipts! She then sorted my dry cleaning. After my shop she was on the till - amazing energy, huge patience and very pleasant. 5 stars from me! The store is also excellent as it carries a wide range of good quality food, alcohol, cleaning items, household items, seasonal goods and books and magazine. The store also has a small cafe.

A good sized Waitrose in the centre of Okehampton. Quality produce and staff as always with Waitrose. Remains the premier supermarket for miles around. Update Sept 2022: The store continues to surpass all others around. Staff still amazing. Update Aug 2023: New larger Self checkout allows for faster shopping experience. All is good.

A wonderful experience. As I was checking out, partner happened to comment on my shopping which was obviously a small party buy. I replied that it is my mother-in-law's 75th birthday and a family celebration, she immediately asked me to "wait there" and disappeared, only to return with a lovely pot of miniature roses as a gift for M-in-L. However embarrassing this may have been, it was a lovely gesture and I'm sure it will be appreciated and enjoyed. Full marks for customer satisfaction. I only regret having missed the partner's name.

Shopped this evening to buy ingredients for a dog friendly birthday cake and needed help to find wholemeal flour. The assistant was extremely helpful and took the time to ask us what breed of dog we had and how old he will be which was lovely, she really showed interest. We kept on shopping for other items around the store and we were choosing easter eggs when the assistant that had already helped us appeared again and gave us a bag of treats for our doggy. The lovely lady was called Mandy and she really made our evening for the really lovely and thoughtful gesture. Great customer service can be forgotten sometime but Mandy was a shinning example for great customer service. Thank you Mandy, our doggy will certainly enjoy his treats😊

I live the quality of goods in Waitrose. Fruit, veg, all top quality. I love their American Cheesecake. One of my favourites. I only buy from there when it's a good price. I don't blindly, without care, just chuck in my basket all I want. I am not rich enough for that. But there are some things here you just can't get anywhere else. So I love my visits and feel posh having a membership card. Role in the day the cafe is open again as I am missing my afternoon coffee and cake there while I read a newspaper.
