My boyfriend’s nephew raved about this place, and we had very high hopes. Although the food was decent (nothing extraordinary), it was extremely overpriced, and the majority of the staff were less than stellar, and at times, rude and obnoxious. With Covid still running rampant and many places having to shut down due to the lack of business, I would have anticipated a restaurant like Mr. Chow to up their game so that their now limited patronage would continue and allow them to stay afloat; however, that was far from our experience. The “Chief Server” didn’t want to be bothered by our questions regarding the heaters provided in their outdoor seating. He was extremely dismissive, and when I questioned what he told us, his response was “I don’t know, you’ll have to ask the manager.” My response was “then why did you answer us as if you knew?” This set the tone for the rest of our dinner, and had it not been for the rest of our party, I would have elected to leave as I don’t believe in giving a rude establishment any of my business. Now let’s move on to the actual food and the expense. Six small pot stickers, though beautifully presented, were nearly twenty dollars. A SMALL plate (not advertised as such) of Beijing beef was about fifty. Their version of shrimp fried rice, also a tiny portion, was almost twenty. When it was all said and done, seven of us wound up with a bill that totaled over 400, which included outside of food, 1 bottle of sparkling water, two martinis, and the rest tap water. When we asked them to split the bill, they didn’t want to be bothered with that as well and made it seem as if we were asking them to accomplish a feat that was unheard of and how dare we inconvenience them. It wasn’t until after my boyfriend’s nephew got extremely irritated and basically demanded they split the bill, they finally did. We all left cold, upset, not satiated, and 400 dollars poorer. We, for sure, will never return.

Nice food, lovely outdoor dining space, kind staff. I gather it is a New York classic but I've been to more up-to-date places with a better value for money

The team here is supior to the other locations i have frequented. Food is very consistent which is important when you spend 500+ on an outing.

Expensive, old-school/classic New York Chinese food. Excellent service but new places have overtaken this.

Staff was great. Food not so good but as a Chicago resident, there's no food like Chicago. We thought this place would be amazing but it was below average. Environment was cool and staff was nice. That's about it. Five stars for experience. Your food not so much. Step it up. We went to McDonald's after and had a better meal.

Overpriced hype. Rude staff and arrogant patrons caused us to leave this place very unhappy. We live in Tribeca and did not feel like guests. Go somewhere that deserves your business.
