No trip to Napier would be complete without a meal at Restaurant Indonesia. The Rijsttafel is a unique flavour adventure which must be experienced. The owners are clearly passionate about delivering a high quality, authentic and delightful dining experience.

In Napier for the weekend and decided to eat in for the first night. What a great decision to get our mela from here. Absolutely delicious meal. Everything ordered was amazing! Definitely try this establishment.

We had the “rijsttafel” tonight and oh my word, it was absolutely divine, best restaurant meal we’ve had in years! If you don’t know the Indonesian kitchen you must try, if you do know it you will agree with me that this is one of the top kitchens. Our host was very welcoming and he shared insights, loved it.

We tried the mixed vegetable and chicken lumpia; chicken satay and curly prawns as starters. For main meal we had mid aceh fried noodles with chicken, prawn and egg. EVERYTHING was delicious and so flavorful! Highly recommend this gem!

Great food, quality customer service and affordability all in one. We never regretted coming to this place after our travel from Wellington to Napier. Indeed, our quick stay was pleasant and awesome. Amazing ambience. You’ll learn Indonesian culture and other countries. You feel good about the treatment of the owner. She was on top of everything! Highly recommended when you are in Napier. 👍

Everything feels like home, from the ambience to the food! The food is so yummy especially Mie Goreng with extra Ayam Goreng and Corn Fritters (Bakwan Jagung). Definitely worth the drive from Palmy. Terima Kasih. 😊😊😊

Really friendly welcome, nice and warm inside on a cold winters night. We had Rijsttafel for 3, it was perfect. And the Spekkoek spiced cake for dessert was great. We'll visit again.

Awesome Indon food in NZ! My best meal yet!
We visited the resto on our first day at Napier (3A2C) and had the Ultimate Rijsttafel and the seafood one, as well as a nasi goreng and an entrée (Soto Ayam). Every dish was impressive with the level of spices (it’s the fragrance of the herbs and spices added, not so much of spicy hot).
Kudos to the owners for such effort and service!

Absolutely amazed and delighted that we dined here on our trip to Napier. The service, cuisine and the overall experience was outstanding.
The hosts were attentive and engaging with stories about the decor. The opening crackers and sambal were a delightful surprise.
After the Rijsttafel which is the 11 course experience we received a complentary dessert which was light and refreshing.
