We ordered the bulgolgi beef and the spicy bulgolgi chicken with cheese. Food was very tasty, don’t get my wrong but the chicken had 3 chilli signs next to it yet it was not spicy. The menu outside displayed all the food $1 cheaper than it really was when you got inside, and there are no side dishes! Not even kimchi!

They really slap on the sauce here, which some might consider a good thing but I think it takes away the flavour of the actual fried chicken. That aside, there is nothing exceptional to report about the food here. Wait times can also be super long in peak times like when uni finishes. Oh and a few lessons in good old hospitality mightn’t go astray for the main lady who works at the counter here. She stares you down when you approach the counter to order and basically chucks your food at you when you come to pick it up. Good service doesn’t require a lot of English but just some consideration for your paying customers and maybe even a smile wouldn’t hurt.

Love the concept of "expressing" Korean Fried Chicken meal as a lunch item. Ordered two sauces for the chicken : Soy, garlic, spring onion and sweet chili. The soy sauce tasted fresh due to the presence of horseradish-y flavor in it. Pickled daikon enhanced its freshness all the more. Nice coleslaw as a side. Overall, it was a fresh lunch despite all the fried stuffs.

OK KOREAN THEMED CHICKEN AND CHIPS JOINT
Samsam is on the food court level in the QV Centre.. right at the rear.
Menu is mainly chicken and chips. OK for a quick bite but if you want something a bit fancier there are better options in this food court.
Communal seating in the food court area. No buzzers - they call out your number when your dish is ready, so you need to sit / wait nearby.

Good food for a quick lunch.
Taste can be compared to Gami.
Ordered chicken with rice for just $12.80.

I ordered chicken rice. It was A$12.80. Delicious. You can choose your flavour.

love that KFC doesn’t need to be an elaborate meal here, you can just order a single serving to satisfy your cravings.
Sam sam, with its catchy name and cute branding, is fast becoming a household name for Korean food in Melbourne. Pricing seems quite value for money - it’s a $15 meal
The fried chicken itself was crunchy without being overwhelmingly oily. They got their chips right too - the shoestring version came with an addictive mayo sauce. radish was also very fresh and delightful to finish. Not my hands down favourite Korean place in town, but a convenient and formidable option at the QV food court (guys, don’t just eat dragon hot pot there!) fair warning tho - its self-service.

Express? yes. Customer service ? Doesn't exist! She was too busy to help me order, even I was standing in front of her. Good on you.
