Black Bear Diner

Atmosphere is nice and quiet. We had great waitresses that were following up on us and provided great customer service. We didn't wait to long to be served. I got the bacon cheeseburger with fries. I loved how juicy the burger was and it wasn't too heavy. Nice small burger. Chicken was soft and juicy, not too over cooked. Everything was quick and fast here.

We have eaten at Black Bear Diner since it opened in Madera and the food has always been amazing. Tonight we ordered the meatloaf dinner. It was completely inedible. The soup was lukewarm. The meatloaf was like pressed meat and tasted like tofu with gravy. The vegetables were uncooked and hard. The only decent part of our experience was the waitress. Unfortunately, after years of loving this restaurant, we will not be back.

Great service and food, they made my 30th birthday breakfast really special and just took good care of us. I had one quality issue with my kid's food and they fixed it right away. We would love to come back. I highly recommend the upgrade to the blackberry stuffed French toast!! Definitely worth it. We are looking forward to going again.

My wife and I love this place!! JERRY and NICOLA always make sure everything is amazing! And if it's an off day (rarely happens) they always make it right!! The food is great! Service is great! My wife always has her TRI tip dip, but we both love everything on the menu! NEVER leave without their delicious pies!! Thanks for the great food and great times!

07/97/2021 : Call in 2 order of chicken fried steak w/eggs to go! I got there 35 min. Later And order had not even been started. After about 7 min. Of waiting, I finally stopped a waitress and told her I was picking up my order. The empty bag was sitting on the counter, she looked at the tag, went to chef area and grabbed one container, looked around for the rest, placed in the bag and left the area, the other I stopped also looked at tag and passed it to another waitress, that waitress also left to check out customer. I was ready to turn and leave when another waitress looked at the tag and grabbed the rest of the order which had been sitting there awhile. When I got home (10 min) the chicken fried steak was WELL OVER COOKED and POTATOES were BURNED on the bottom. FOOD WAS COLD. PLACE HAS CHANGED, EVERYONE RUNNING AROUND VERY UNORGANIZED. IT WILL BE A VERY LONG TIME BEFORE I RETURN, IF I EVER DO.
