D'vine Wine Bar

As a frequent patron of D'Vine, my husband and I were appalled at the management choices recently. Last night Oliver was our waiter/bartender and was AMAZING. It's clear that if he were running the place, instead of Mark, the end results would be remarkably different. It was an embarrassment last night as once again, the general manager was clueless about how to operate his own restaurant. During previous visits, Mark made customers around us, and us, just uncomfortable, not to mention his own employees. To top off a very poorly organized night, which points back to Mark, he chose to openly berate a customer, sitting right next to me, about a past experience. I don't know what the guy sitting next to me did on another night, but I would think that anybody with social etiquette, as a GM, would take that person aside if he was posing a threat. That alone made me very uncomfortable as Mark was hostile and so was the customer. It was my understanding that this customer did something on a past visit that made an employee uncomfortable, which I obviously don't condone, but the way Mark handled it was completely wrong. So unbelievably unprofessional. When your own employees are rolling their eyes at the GM and the customers are agreeing, there is a problem. Having to force your extremely adept, well organized, socially amazing employees, like Oliver, to serve guests on paper plates, run out of glasses, not to mention him having to point out the obvious every 5 minutes to his GM is just not right. Very bad way to have such a great local spot run and I truly hope that there are some changes made to this business arrangement so D'Vine can stay open.
