Steak Rave

Must have in Kailua. Been here on other trips to Hawaii. Location is interesting, its kind of attached inside the Oneawa Market. Meant to be a takeout though I guess you could eat standing up on the side counter inside. Steak is very lean. Best to eat straight away or it may become too cooked/dry. I haven't tried yet but I wonder if I can ask them to not cook it well done. They have a special sauce that helps give it that extra flavor and will moisten it up a little. Even so I still really enjoy it. We have also tried the chicken and a our new favorite, BBQ Chicken. Good flavor with the marinade throughout the meat, also hard to over cook the chicken thighs. Good portion for price. Definitely better value than anything you can get down in Waikiki. Made sure to hit this place before going back.

Favorite local steak place spot! Very good local hot spot!! Basic plate lunch but very very good and safe for gluten-free dairy-free people. Also if you're gluten-free and dairy free their dressings other than ranch is dairy free and gluten free, only made with egg containing ingredients. I checked the labels!

If you are visiting Kailua Beach you should stop here. Probably one of the cheapest place you can get good food. $8 will Get you so much. Get your plate lunch to go and take it to the beach or stop by at one of the scenic views if you're on your way to Honolulu. No options for vegetarians and they only take cash.

Stumbled upon this small hole in the wall hidden gems walking into Oneawa Market years ago -- 5, maybe 6 -- and been returning ever since. Cheap eats without the cheap taste. Phone orders, walk-in, dine-in (on the diner like tables or bar area fronting the door) I've always had fast, friendly service. Husband and I can have a meal for less than $20 and fully satisfied bellies. Steak plates, combo plates, steak & noodles, I don't think we've ever ordered something we weren't satisfied with, especially for the price. Extra sauce options on the side allow patrons to select different flavor profiles.
