Hampton Wine Co

I've waited until my third time here to place my review just to make sure I really understand the place as it is really unique for the area. There is no doubting the quality of the wines served here and if this is your purpose for dropping by, then you won't be disappointed. But if you think you're going to be taken on a viticultural journey, you'll be disappointed as the wine list is pretty limited. The service is excellent and attentive. The food is nice enough but they are very small dishes, but as a wine bar, most would not expect a restaurant experience. The fitout is simple, warm and charming and in winter, it is a nice cosy alternative to the rest of Hampton Street. The number 1 reason for losing a star for Hampton Wine Co. is the borish, loudmouth mums who shriek and scream their heads off like teenagers, hitting on the bar staff, laughing at their own jokes and on one occasion, trying to outdo each other with how obnoxious they can be. So afternoon and early evening visits are advised if possible.
