Sushi Ya

A good North American style 'sushi' restaurant. If you like your California Rolls, Green Dragon Rolls etc., Sushi Ya is a good option. They cater well to the expectations of the local demographic. The house special rolls are quite large and hearty, but the regular maki rolls are average in proportion. Taste, quality and freshness are acceptable, but not outstanding. I feel the price is a bit high for what you're getting, but then you don't have a lot of options in this area.

Vegetarian - veg futo Maki roll, veg dragon roll and tofu terriyake dinner. Always very good quality food, big pieces of roll and good service. We have been going here for 3 years and the quality hasn't gone down. Can't wait to eat in again! I make a special trip to go and eat the food here from Burlington as there aren't any good sushi places here for vegetarians - I've tried a few and they have been okay. Nothing compared to Sushi Ya.

This sushi is absolutely delicious! Very fresh, excellent value for the price. Wonderful service. Easy curbside pickup. Ordered the Maki + Sushi tray tonight (Christmas Day) for curbside pickup. Just as I was heading to pick it up, Waterdown had a massive power outage. The staff at Sushi Ya were working by flashlight, and brought my order out to my car right on time with no problems. They even included a little Christmas gift of green tea packages. Thank you Sushi Ya! This is our new go-to place; can't wait to go back.

I've been to well over a dozen sushi places in the GTA, and this place is right up there with some of the best of them. Great portion sizes, tasty house specials, and remarkably fast and friendly service. Presentation was also very cool. Hope this place is here for a long time - Waterdown deserves a spot like this!
