Everyone in the office LOVED it! We ordered from DEMOCRACY on Tuesday for lunch. It was one of the Dentist’s birthdays. She eats a vegetarian diet with no eggs, so we wanted to be respectful of that when choosing a takeout restaurant. After a quick GOOGLE search, DEMOCRACY came up amongst the top 10 VEGAN restaurants in Hamilton. We had to feed a staff of 8, some of whom are regular meat eaters. Some of the comments heard after lunch were: “I can’t believe all of that food was vegan!”, “The burger was so delicious - I couldn’t tell it wasn’t meat.”, and “Let’s order from there again next time we have a vegetarian lunch.” We ordered 2 pizzas, 3 boxes of cauliflower wings, 4 burgers, fries, supreme fries, sweet potato fries, chilli, and a box of assorted desert squares. With a small tip, we rounded the total up to an even $200, which seemed to be a reasonable cost for lunch for 8 people with lots of food leftover. It’s very difficult to please a staff of all women with various tastes and opinions, but DEMOCRACY was a true crowd pleaser. We will definitely be ordering again!

First time trying the food here, have tried coffee years ago. Was here August 5. 2021. Ordered the fries and beyond meat burger. Fries were amazing, loved what ever seasoning was placed on top. Burger was juicy and flavourful but the bun was a little over toasted. Tried the deep fried cauliflower and they were good and very large.

Democracy is a planted based restaurant and organic/fair trade cafe offering all day breakfast, lunch and dinner items. There is a diverse menu. I had the soup of the day cauliflower coconut curry puree. It tasted good. I also tried the cauliflower wings with garlic lime dressing and a side of siracha. The planted based burger with sweet potato fries were good as well. I finished off with a matcha latte woth almond milk base. Will definitely return again. Thank you!

I got a kombucha, banh mi sandwich and shared the cauliflower wings to start. All the food was delicious. The cauliflower wings were huge but nice and crunchy! The banh mi is a fun take on the traditional sandwich (I loved the vegan pate). I took a star off because the service was really slow and our starter came out at the same time as our meals. I think the wait wouldn’t have been as noticeable if the starter came out first. The food was delicious though (and I got to enjoy my leftovers the next day, as pictured). I would highly recommend!
