Mare Monte

Mare Monte never disappoints! Ambiance, service and food are excellent. Classic Italian dishes combined with creative daily specials make it hard to choose. Food is prepared from scratch and with care. It never feels like they are trying to do too much with a dish. Fresh seafood and high quality meats, very reasonably priced. Last time I was there I ordered the veal chop, with a side of pasta in oil and garlic. Both came out just as I expected; the veal was cooked perfectly and the pasta wasn't swimming in oil. Definitely a favorite in the area! Keep it up Mare Monte!

First time here and it was awesome. Came around 4:30pm and only one other couple came in until we left at 6. The tables are nicely spaced out and the decor is charming. Very clean throughout. Our waiter Aldo was also very attentive and kind. The bread that comes before your meal was warm fluffy goodness. Omg the asparagus soup was so good! It looks rich but it's light and just a touch creamy. Loved how well it was seasoned and asparagus flavor was phenomenal. The best part was how hot the soup was. Normally you go to restaurants, the soup comes ladled out 2 seconds after ordering and it's luke warm but I loved how hot the soup was here. The mussels were seasoned perfectly and the sauce was great. Didn't get any grit either while eating them but I will say the mussels were pretty tiny. Maybe just the batch they got this time since I saw other people's pics with much bigger mussels. Tasted great though. The parpardelle was food for the soul. Cooked al dente with a rich creamy sauce that isn't too thick. Scallops, spinach, crab, and sundried tomatoes all came together wonderfully. The strawberry panna cotta was probably one of the best I've had. Had nice crunchy pieces of almond on top which adds awesome texture. The strawberry flavor tasted fresh and the chocolate syrup to the side was a nice touch. The only weird thing was the regular creme brulee (they also had a chocolate flavored one). It was a bit eggy and the torched sugar had a slight bitterness to it. I'm gonna chalk this up to just being an unfortunate fluke because everything else tasted so good. Needless to say I was still very happy overall with my meal and will be back.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Mare Monte! The highlights were the artichoke appetizer- fresh with capers and spinach in bright sauce. We ordered the mushroom ravioli served in a rose cream sauce topped with small bits of crab! Delicious!! My husband ordered the squid ink linguine served with shrimp, mussels and scallops in a red sauce! Fresh and bright- the pasta was homemade and just a tad undercooked. Still delicious!!!I had the chicken monte which was delightful!!!

This was the best food and service I have had in a long time. I ordered the mussels as an appetizer, they were cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. The night was so enjoyable I forgot to take more pictures! We also had the burrata salad special, which was very fresh and high quality. We topped it off with their homemade panna cotta for dessert. Must try restaurant and great for special occasions!

What a charming and romantic restaurant in Haddonfield. We ordered mostly the evening specials because they sounded amazing. The meal started with grilled octopus over broccoli rabe and the burrata with melon and mortedella . The octopus was very tender and not chewy at all. I loved that it came over broccoli rabe but the tomatoe caper sauce was so good. I really enjoy a salty and sweet flavor combination and the burrata special hit that for me. My husband order the veal chop special that was delicious. The veal was cooked properly topped with jumbo lump crabmeat in an amazing gorganzola sauce. That sauce was so good I would've eaten my shoe in it. For my dish I had the gnocchi vodka. The gnocchi are homemade and hit that comfort food craving. We ended our meal with on a high note with a chocolate creme brule. My husband and I enjoyed the food and service by our waiter Aldo. This is a BYOB and we will definitely be back.

Disappointing service — our server didn’t write down our order for 5 people and forgot our appetizer completely with no apology at all. They also started to clear our silverware and plates while we were still in the middle of eating, forks in hand. The kids menu pasta was covered in garnish that the kids wouldn’t eat… and we waited forever for the check and a to-go box. Definitely won’t return.

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and Izzi and his partner take great pride in making their customers happy. Food is pretty good, some italian classics and some twists, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. Amazing food and service. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. Highly recommend!!!
