Panera Bread

My wife gets a craving for a Panera sandwich now and then. Tonight, I grabbed one for myself.I got the new Spicy Take chicken sandwich. Well... that's what I ordered. What I GOT was a dry, overcooked (sat under heat lamps for hours?) chicken filet on a bun slathered in some anonymous sauce... with NOTHING else on the bun. I removed the cold chicken to heat it up and took pics of the bun, as it was served to me. I did end up putting my own sauce and veggies on the sandwich, but nothing was saving that bit of chicken leather. I ended up feeding a chunk of the chicken to my dog. ***Nothing against the employees, and I sometimes enjoy the coffee and baked goods here. But... WOW. For a $10+ sandwich, throw a pickle on there, or something.

Slowest Panera location ever. There was only one girl working on bread. Finally someone came to ring, but the bread girl disappeared. They should really be at least two people working in the front of house. The entire time I was there they had a long line of people waiting. Clackamas has nicer staff and faster service.

I made a note on my order to add cream cheese to my bagel. They made a note on my receipt "due to covid we can't do that". But they can build my egg white Spinach Avocado sandwich. I called the manager and she said "they can't open packages of spread", I asked "so all the spread you used to make the other sandwiches, was that made in house? Or did that come in packages?" She said "they came in a package." I asked "so you can open big packages but not small packages?" She said "yes that's correct", I said "do you understand how crazy that sounds?"

After years of hearing great things about Panera and their.Mac and Cheese, I finally decided to try. What a big DISAPPOINTMENT! First of all, ordered curbside pick up. Arrived on time. Followed on line directions, "I'm here". Waited and waited. (Only car for pick up) I then called phone number on sign. Rang and rang. Nobody ever answered. I felt I wasn't dressed appropriately to go in. I was about to just leave, when guy came out, said sorry, handed me see small.bag and took off. I had ordered Mac and Cheese at $9.00 plus (said included a baguette) I assumed for that price, my husband and I had our dinner. So, I was shocked when I opened bag (mind you, employee was long gone) and there was a tiny, single serving Mac and Cheese, plus NO baguette. Including my tip, I paid over $12.00 for less the a cup of Mac and Cheese. Of course to top this horrible experience off, it didn't even taste good. What a complete waste of time and money. First and LAST time I will ever go to Panera.
