First time eating at Hondos and it was excellent. The service was outstanding. I believe it was Morgan who waited on us and she was the best! Food was really good. Photos are of the Bourbon Pecan Brie, Steak Hondo and Key Lime Pie

This was our first time to Hondos. We were celebrating our last weekend out before having a baby, we didn't have a reservation so we decided to enjoy dinner at the bar. Vanessa took wonderful care of us. The food was amazing and she even made me a delicious mocktail! Her and the other bartender surprised us with pecan pie for dessert. We definitely will be going back for another date night!

We had a Holiday Party luncheon at Hondos today. The food was delicious. The service was a bit off but we were understanding. With the pandemic, restaurant service everywhere is limited and strained. We did not harass our server. He was more upset with the kitchen than we were. The kitchen did not make 2 of the 12 ordered entrees and did not get them out until much later. The manager apologized and comped the 2 meals and all our desserts. I ended up boxing up my meal instead of eating there(dinner!). I was quite satisfied with all the appetizers. We all had a wonderful time regardless of the mistakes. I felt worse for the server. He was spread too thin and was extremely stressed out. He has likely dealt with arrogant nasty patrons. We tipped fairly and generously. Servers truly live on tips. I hope those who read this will exercise the same restraint. Remember the Golden rule. Acting entitled and rude only causes negativity. This world has had way too much of that recently.

Dined at Hondos with 10 other lovely ladies. Unfortunately I am allergic to shellfish so I could only order a few items, I had the Hondo Salad with chicken breast and a baked potato. I gobbled that food up. The other ladies seemed to enjoy their meals as well. I heard the bread was good too, shake sure you get some. PRICES ARE NOT for the faint at heart$$$ depending on your taste. My bills wasn't too bad $35.

New to the area, and was excited to try something more upscale for my husbands birthday. Our waiter was great, but the wait time and food was not a good first impression, and we mostly likely would not go back! We waited almost 2 hours for our food to arrive! We understand they were short staffed and we were more than understanding and patient, but My chicken Milanese was over cooked to the point that the breading was black and the chicken was so extremely dry that it was hard to cut! I was shocked that it was even served to me like that! My husband ordered his steak well done, and the waiter asked if medium well would suffice, and he agreed! When his steak came it was extremely rare and he was not able to eat it! I sent my chicken back as I did not want to wait for another one to be cooked and my husband took his steak home to finishing cooking it! Our bill was comped all but the steak, and we appreciated that, but over $70 for a steak we had to finish cooking, and obviously still tipping, as it was not our waiter’s fault, was a little disappointing! Every table near us sent their steak backs, so it definitely was not a good night for this establishment!

Reservation was at 8p but the restaurant closed at 9p. We were made to feel like we needed to make an rushed decision about what food we were going to eat because the kitchen closed at 9p.
Fried oysters were delicious. Steak had no flavor. Salmon was dry. The food tasted rushed also.
We were NEVER offered any bread and had to ask for the dessert menu AFTER receiving our checks.
Once the dessert menu was received it was clearly pointed out that the kitchen oven was no longer on and if I wanted a hot dessert it wasn’t an option.
Again the restaurant should consider cutting off reservations at 6p or 7p to ensure a full dining experience for their guests.

Have not been here in a few years and wow, how this place has changed. I feel like this place has gone down hill in many ways. Food was sub par at best. Very greasy and dated. Presentation was poor and menu selections old. Wine list was shockingly limited for a chop house. Service was lacking from the moment we walked in the door (hostess was very unwelcoming) and bar tender overlooked us for a long time (bought me a drink to make up for it and was apologetic which I appreciated). AND an apparently over served person was resting his head on the bar. Felt seedy and gross. Hondos used to be a go to establishment but times sure have changed this place and not in a good way.
