Fallbrook Cafe

It was okay. Regarding the chili bowl, it was salty. The cornbread from regular to bad, it was probably old because I cached some weird smell from it. The omelette was good, it was accompanied with wheat toasted 🍞 bread which was good. The best from the place was the attention from the waitress, she was kind🙂, but the food...hmmm good to regular.

Came in at about 5pm on a Sunday after driving by it multiple times and decided I had to check it out. No line, empty restaurant which easily became packed at every table by the time I finished my meal at 6pm. Opted for the chicken fried steak which came with soup (changes daily), or salad, dinner roll or cornbread, and choices of sides. The soup and dinner roll came out first, very hot and enjoyable. Not even 5 minutes after I finish those two the main entree comes out, packed plate and I couldn't finish but the food was very flavorful and everything well cooked. Prices are identical to what you expect to pay at a comfortable sit down restaurant, would easily recommend coming here if you're in the area.

I had egg sausage and hash brown with the best biscuit I have had in forever and my husband had cinnamon roll french toast which we had only ever dreamt of. This slong with their coffee was the best breakfast we have had. It was worth driving from Morro Bay to Fallbrook for this visit and this breakfast.

Fallbrook Cafe “Disappoint me once, shame on you. Disappoint me twice, shame on me”. I stopped by the Fallbrook Cafe this morning for breakfast. This restaurant is a favorite and their food is generally good comfort food, but I ordered the Denver Omelette. I had one of these months before and it was a major disappointment: dry, crumbly, scrambled eggs with stuff mixed-in, flopped over to resemble an omelette. I wrote it off as a “new” cook mistake. Today, I ordered another one. Obviously the cook had not improved. Same as before. When the server brought it to the table I remarked that I had never seen an omelette that looked like this. She replied that “that’s the way we do them here”. I ate it anyway because I was hungry, but very disappointed. I have heard it said by respected chefs that the test for hiring a cook is whether he/she can make a good omelette. If this test were used by this establishment, this cook would still be looking for a job.

Very unpleasant dining experience. I took my adult daughters to Fallbrook Cafe for breakfast on a busy Sunday. No one greeted me when I walked in and I stood at the register for several minutes before anyone helped me. We wrote our name on the wait list and waited for 20 minutes until we started to see people that came in after us getting sat. I again had to stand at the register for several minutes before someone helped me and then I saw that our name had been crossed out on the list. I let the manager know that our name had never been called and that we had been sitting right there the whole time. The manager did not apologize to me and then confronted the hostess right in front of us who also did not apologize and proceeded to glare at us. We had to wait several more minutes for someone else to leave and then the hostess took us to our table without saying a word, threw down menus and stalked off. She came back to take our drink orders, and literally did not smile one time nor did she respond when we thanked her. We waited for a long time for the waitress to take our food orders and she walked up without a smile and said, "what do you want." She spoke bruskly, and acted like we were annoying her when we paused a second when she asked what kind of toast we wanted (she didn't give us the options) and then smarmily said, "oh you're not very prepared, did I not give you enough time?" Food was blah, ambiance totally uninspiring not to mention cramped and loud, but most of all, the staff was just plain rude.

Coming From Los Angeles to visit family we came here for the first time. Wait time was decent. We were a large party so we had to wait to be seated. Once seated, our orders were taken quick and fast. I must say that despite the welcoming host, the service felt rushed and there is one lady who was very stern about the way she wanted to take our order. One thing I will mention, I have never been stared at by so many people. I feel like a movie star... My food was delicious and we were checked in to refresh our drinks. As for the prices, all I can say it’s California every thing is expensive. 4 stars over all for food and service.
