Happy Garden

First time ordering from here, will also be the last. How they managed to get every single thing wrong is honestly mind-blowing. The sesame chicken was soggy and tasted like napkins, the fried rice wasn't actually fried, it was just boiled and colored yellow, the dumplings tasted like salt and nothing else, the egg rolls had almost no filling whatsoever, and even the fortune cookies were stale. I'm not the complaining type, but this was just BAD.

I honestly wasn't sure what to think about this place. The inside is certainly questionable, at least for me and what I expect a resteraunt to look like. But the food is very good, crab Rangoon is great and comes with sweet and sour sauce for free. Some of my pictures are of the general tso chicken meal, which is around $8 and comes with a pork egg roll as well. Very large portions for the price you pay and it's a good place to get a quick bite. It took about 8 minutes from time to order to pick up.

So- Be me and my bf moving in 2018>>> we're taking a cab to get a moving truck, the cabby, who is pretty nice, takes us down a street we haven't really been down before. We're like oh look there's all these places in this area. Happy Garden? What's that we should try that sometime. The cabbie nods, "they're great." Sometime pretty soon after we try them. It's most likely not only the best priced Chinese food for how much you get but also for how delicious and fresh it is. Nothing for us has ever taken more than 10-15 mins. My boyfriend and I joke that people call up and order feasts for their party and are quoted the same time. This place is a hidden gem in Evansville. And the quality is always consistently good. Here's a picture of a plate I made with the stuff I ordered from there just a few mins ago. It looks amazing and tastes even better! I mean its not really a glamorous place to eat in but its not really designed to be a place to eat in its more a take out place, but dude if you want take out this is probably the best Chinese take out in the area.
