Lillies On Brougham

A little gem in Eltham. A fantastic menu and a delightful ambiance with service that matches it all. They have a great variety of tea available and the menu changes regularly. The daily specials and the classics are recommended. I love the decor and well-curated lifestyle stuff available for purchase. You could even walk around their brilliant garden.

I can't say I've been there very recently, but I have been several times and would say that Lilies is consistent. The food is consistently good and the service from the older ladies who work there is consistently poor. If you show up with kids or in sweaty bike clothes be prepared to be treated with a little contempt. It's a pity, because the outdoor area opens into a beautiful garden that is a joy to be in on a nice day. We take the kids for a ride there wearing sweaty bike clothes and enjoy it and even take a little pleasure in annoying Prue and Trude.

Popped in for coffee, was handed lunch menu and shown to table. When just ordered coffee and scones, was told that we had half an hour, they needed the table. The place was almost empty and it was 1.30 pm. The food was good, pure presentation, i.e steak knife to spread butter and very runny jam! The menus were dirty, as was the waitress's apron. Will NEVER go back. Not at all welcoming.

I have been going to Lilies on Brougham for approx. 9 years and during that time the food has always been great and the service fantastic. Yesterday was no exception, where my partner took me there for my birthday. Wonderful, friendly promt service, delectable food in a very pretty French provincial country setting!!! :D

Treated like we had leprosy as we walked through the door with our 6 year old daughter. Plenty of vacant tables but when asked for a seat basically shown the door. Went to Eltham Tea House instead and had an amazing brunch without the snobbery. As most of the other reviews also commented on the older women who should not be in the hospitality business.
