My family and I came in the night before Easter 2022 right before closing time. We are from the Raleigh area. One of us are vegetarian, one on the keto diet, and the others eat the normal American diet. We were all pleased and satisfied with the choices as well as the service and the prices. We had great service even though it was the end of the night. The fried Brussels were a little too overdone for me and the waitress later told me to ask for them to be "fried light" next time. That is one thing to keep in mind if it's your first time visiting. Our night was topped off with the most kindest act from a stranger! An older couple paid for our entire meal and my family and I would like to strongly express our gratitude! Thank you for your kind gesture, it helped us a lot and we left that night with big smiles and happy tears! May you be blessed! 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽

We were passing through the area and didn’t want to go too far off of Rt85 BUT the 10mins to downtown Elon were worth it! Saturday afternoon. Kindly greeted & seated immediately. Server was courteous & efficient. We didn’t need to ask for refills b/c she was on it! Fried cauliflower appetizer disappeared as soon as it was put on the table. My boy loved his mac & cheese and my girls split a fish sandwich w/Brussels. Adults had ginger shrimp wrap & fish sandwich. SO YUMMY! And under $50! My only complaint is that there isn’t a Root closer to my home!

Healthy, cheerful, and delicious place! I do enjoyed vegan burger with crispy brussel sprouts. There are lots of menus that I wanted to try. Servers are very friendly and nice, make my time here welcomed.

We always enjoy dining here when we are in town. The menu is small, but what they do serve they do well. We really like the Maple salad, Root burger and fried Brussel sprouts.

During a drive from Charlotte, I was looking for something new, I stumbled upon this place, it was everything one can expect. The staff was very courteous. As vegetarians, there were plenty to choose from. I will definitely add ROOT to my route for my next trip. Thank you for a good experience.

Loved the delicious, fresh, healthy food options, the prompt and pleasant service, and the chill, cozy, yet classy, aesthetic, which was perfect for a special lunch with one of my dearest friends that I don’t get to see often (read: we had a lot of catching up to do, and while business at this establishment was steady that day, we didn’t feel a bit rushed by staff). Really enjoyed the unique twists on their recipes! Excited to go back!

We’re local, and visit The Root a few times a month. We are seated quickly and our servers are on the ball. Our favorites are the burgers, fries, mac and cheese, which is so very good, and the Maple salad. The attention they give each dish is obvious from the fried Brussels sprouts on salads to the aioli on fires. Our only dish we didn’t care for was the fried grits with tomato gravy. The grits were very bland and couldn’t even be helped by the gravy. We’ll definitely keep The Root on our list of favorites!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of the Burlington area, and definitely my favorite in all of Elon. The Root is a smaller restaurant which is most known to be a lunch hotspot for Elon students and others alike. It has an upscale feel to the restaurant, where parties can quickly get in and out within a 45 minute time span. You typically will only see a wait at the Root during busy lunch hours, such as Friday's or Saturday's. The Root has a variety of menu options including but not limited to: salads, sandwiches, and wraps. They also have multiple atypical side items which are very popular, the one that specifically comes to my mind is Brussels sprout. A quick note before proceeding forward about main entree items, the mac and cheese is unbelievably tasty. I highly consider switching out your fries for mac and cheese as their fries are not great and their mac and cheese is! The entrees at The Root have been enjoyed by all of my friends and family alike. A specific dish that two family members love is the Asian Salad. The restaurant also has a very good burger (which is paired well with the mac and cheese). An ending piece about The Root which is probably unknown by most. The Root has seasonal specials that are delicious! Always make sure to ask about the specials before ordering! Angela and the rest of the wait team does an incredible job and I highly suggest you take yourself to The Root if you are looking for a great dining experience at a relatively good price!
