My kiddo has been on a macaron fix lately and because he has been doing a good job with school work and such, when he asked if we could check if the bakery next door to Teri's ToyBox had macarons I obliged. The place reminds me of old-timey bakeries where the store is old, dusty and dimly lit but it had macarons and that is good enough for the kiddo. The selection is what you'd expect for a bakery catering to locals (not trendy or even multiculturally interesting like Tous/85°/Lady Yum). We got the raspberry with chocolate cream and the pistachio flavors. Paid $15 (incl. tax) something for four macarons and a blue whale cookie. I would say the prices are similar to other bakeshops. The kiddo liked the raspberry macaron and the cookie. I have no objections to the macarons, I tasted both. I appreciate that both flavors weren't too sweet. I'm familiar with the controversy that the bakery was embroiled in so I wonder if the Google ratings are low because of it. I give the store a 4 stars because my kid liked what we purchased, the bakery person was pleasant, and the prices were ok. When we find ourselves exploring Main after a visit to the beach, we might pop in again if the kiddo wants another macaron.

Tasty and wide variety of pastries for an unassuming bakery—definitely worth a stop in Edmonds. We got eight different bakes to sample and easily the chicken bone (candied coconut raised doughnut) was crowd favorite. Bonus: extensive cookie jar collection

I grew up in the Edmonds area and it was always a treat to go to the bakery with my sisters after swimming lessons at Yost pool. Whenever I am back in town visiting it is a must do and brings back memories of childhood and I've enjoyed bringing my kids here. They love it too! A true treasure ❤️

Very poor food handling. Handling ready-to-eat foods with bare hands. Edit: Thank you for your reply. As a pastry chef, I enjoy visiting many bakeries. I understand your policy, but I've heard people talk about how poor the sanitation is at this establishment so I decided I would go see for myself. I hoped the rumors weren't true, but as I asked for something out of the case, the person serving me grabbed a COOKED pastry with their BARE hand. They did not wash their hands before this either. Not only that, but there were pastries with nuts on the same trays as pastries without nuts. Other people I've spoken to say the workers are unkempt and their clothes dirty. As a food worker I am concerned for the health of customers that shop here and encourage them to be aware when food is handled improperly, especially in a community with many people vulnerable to food-borne illness.

My husband ordered a full sized strawberry shortcake for my 60th birthday. 3 pounds of strawberries in the middle. OMG. Best cake ever.

Ken is an awesome baker and the shop has so much yummy goodness. I’m partial to the butterhorns, savory croissants, and cookies. Full selection of breads. Oh and don’t forget pie for the holidays!

I’ve always enjoyed the desserts and baked goods here and they have a good coffee and the staff is nice and they have a pretty good price on the sandwich as well. If you’re looking for a little treat when you’re in Edmonds this in my opinion is the best place to go.
