It's a decent place. Food was actually good. Not sure how but we ordered two separate hot chocolate, very clearly with two different milk types, and were somehow brought two tiny expressos? Not sure how but hey it happens, the place is otherwise good.

Excellent pumpkin spice latte, better than Starbucks. You can chose among regular milk, soy or oats (not GF). Three good options if you are looking for gluten-free baked treats, one also vegan (see photos). The GF Belgian chocolate brownie was fresh, moist inside with a crunchy top. Excellent.

Great place to have breakfast. Especially the pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup is great. It is about a 15 min walk from below Edinburgh Castle in Grassmarket, which is just fine. Definitely recommend this place over anything close to the historical centre. The reason being that you pay premium prices for food that is no better than at this place.

A lovely small, cosy cafe with pleasant and friendly staff. It is clean and popular with locals for quick bites and hit drinks to go. The food is very good and there are plenty of options for vegetarians. We had a lovely breakfast and chose pancakes, porridge with blueberries and a vegetarian platter. The coffee was great, the pancakes and sourdough bread were amazing. Very good service with reasonable prices. Would definitely return.

Fancied pancakes, this place was one of the nearest so gave it a go. Very generous with toppings, huge topping choice and great wee cafe. Will be back

Really nice little cafe. The food is quite standard but good. The only issue is that they are not using real maple syrup… only flavoured syrup ( but this is clearly mentioned).

What a lovely cafe this is. Very bright. We decided to go here for lunch whilst we were in town and we were so glad we came here. The place was reasonably busy but we managed to get a table ok. Staff were nice. The menu is decent will a good selection of grub. There are your usuals, healthier options and some unique dishes. It looks like they frequently change their specials which I love! This is a sign that they love their job and like being creative. We decided to get a millionaire shortbread milkshake for drinks. This was good. there were bits of shortbread throughout the milkshake so be aware if that’s not a bitty milkshake person. It can be hard to sook it up if there are bits stuck in your straw. it had quite a nice flavour though. Far from the best milkshake I’ve had, mind. For food my wife got a chicken pesto panini with a side of cous cous and salad. The panini was great. She really liked the flavour and the pesto wasn’t too overpowering. The cous cous was a nice addition but sadly the salad didn’t look too appealing as bits of it looked a bit rotten. I got a pancake stack with pulled pork, BBQ sauce & crispy fried onions. Now I usually prefer pancakes with a sweet topping but boy did I enjoy this. The pancakes were thick and bbq pulled pork was sublime. The crispy onions were also an excellent topping. To conclude, we really enjoyed our lunch here. It was affordable (10% NHS worker discount) and tasty.
