Absolutely delicious. We got the full breakfast and the pancakes, and we were so stuffed. Great food. The mocha was the best I've had here. Rich and creamy, almost hot chocolate honestly. Wish I could steal their recipe for that! Will absolutely be back when we visit Edinburgh again.

Be sure to make an appointment in advance and arrive on time, we were about fifteen minutes late and the store was full, we waited about fifteen minutes before sitting down. Since my friend and I would like to sample more things, the two of us ordered a total of three servings, we were so full that we didn't finish everything. And the pancakes are very fluffy and delicious, highly recommended.

Great little cafe in the basement area. Breakfasts were excellent, very tasty and good portions. Staff very friendly and efficient. Best to book a table as it is very popular.

Absolutely incredible food! How good can your usual mushrooms, eggs, ciabatta sandwiches be? So amazing, everything was perfectly seasoned, and you could tell that the produce was special! 10/10 would come back.

This place is top level. I am surprised that with these good quality food, you can still just walk in and get a table here quite easily.
The Scotsman breakfast is one of the best ones I have ever had. Every thing in it is picked carefully with good quality and done with care. Fried tomato in it is exceptionally delicious, next level. I found the haggis in it have a bit different taste, but it’s good as well.
The salami piadina is magical. I have never had something like that, it tastes so healthy, light and natural, while being delicately delicious. It is so light that you can taste those original flavours from different ingredients in it. The salami in it provides a bit spicy kick but it’s not too salty. Even the coleslaw in it actually tastes good.
And the pistachio cream pancake is well balanced with the rich pistachio cream and the crispness of strawberries. The greyish green and the magenta also works well together, delivering this beautiful dish. My feelings about this place is they have a perfect sense of achieving the right amount of flavour. Pistachio cream is rich, creamy, nutty, sweet but not too much. After a few sip of coffee or tea, it washes away and leaves a creamy texture in your mouth.
I ve been to many brunch places and I would say this is among the best ones. This place should at least receive the same level of popularity and recognition as the breakfast club in London.

Pros: This establishment's prime location in the city center makes it an excellent choice for brunch. The friendly staff and nice food contribute to a great brunch experience. The portion size of the pancakes is generous, and although they were a bit sweeter than my preference, I particularly enjoyed a few bites of the pistachio pancakes that my friend ordered. Additionally, my vegetarian English breakfast was satisfying, even with the broken yolk in my egg, which didn't bother me as I was quite hungry.
Cons: While my complaints are few, I was taken aback by the absence of Benedict eggs on the menu. It would have been nice to have a slightly broader range of options to choose from.

This small, quaint cafe in one of the lower level buildings in Hanover Street has the best pancakes in Edinburgh. You could eat these pancakes without anything on them and they would be moist and flavourful. The coffee is delicious and if you’re not into pancakes for whatever reason, then there is plenty to choose from. The staff are lovely.
Please note, you do need to go down a very small set of stairs to enter the building.

Fantastic little gem of a café! The pancakes were out of this world good and pretty large too, I struggled to get through one alone! Lovely coffee and superb hot chocolate along with polite service. Can’t ask for better than that! Possibly our favourite meal in Edinburgh.
