Great restaurant with a fun energy. The libation selection was great. The food was traditional German fare. At this time of the year, they have a wild game menu. We didn't try any of it this time, but it looked great! This place was bustling with people and great energy. Worth coming out to hang out with friends and family!

The Old Stein Inn was a pleasant surprise on our weekend outing. We were in the area and decided to stop and have an early dinner. The restaurant is warm and inviting, we decided to sit in the dining room as there was a birthday party in the beer garden.
Our meals were very good. I loved the red cabbage, it reminded me of my mom's. We had liverwusrt and potato pancakes for starters; both were absolutely delicious. My husband had the Jagerschnitzel; which he enjoyed very much. I had the vegetable spartzle; it was delicious. We shared a German potato salad, it was different from what I grew up on; but, it was good. We shared an apple strudel, it was absolutely delicious!
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is spotless.

Love the Old Stein Inn. Good German beer, food and atmosphere. They have tasty schnitzel that are light and crispy. Good selection of wurst and even darn good fries. Save room for the apple strudel or German chocolate cake. Not open Mon/Tues . They have a large indoor/outdoor seating.

Loved sitting in the biergarten. The food was excellent with large portions. I recommend the saurbraten short ribs. I also special ordered spatzel with cheese.
My "hundred year" beer was excellent as well.

To start, our server (who was also the bartender), Jill with the pink hair, was PHENOMENAL. Whether it was the table shaking, and her getting us some wedges to stop it. Or descriptions of the menu, and her attentiveness, checking on us. Seriously, better service than I’ve gotten at high end restaurants that cost thousands. The food was ridiculously good. The apps, the entree, the dessert. The beers. I don’t have a negative thing to say about it. We asked for some extra sauce and no joke it showed up 12 seconds later. I couldn’t believe it lol. But the bus runners, the table cleaners, the food runners, the bartenders, even the girls at the front hostess stand, professional and made you feel like you were visiting friends at work rather than a random restaurant. I have to say as an entirety, best service i have ever received in Maryland. And I’ve lived here my entire life. Was my first time here, and i can’t wait to come back many times in the future.

The type of spot that you would drive by if not paying attention. However, it is a decent sized place once you get in.
It was a little slow when the party of five I went with showed up. However, the staff was gracious and helpful. The food was traditional German cuisine and was simpy amazing. The beer selection was JUST right, not too overwhelming with a million choices but still enough breathing room to allow for exploration.
All and all, I enjoyed it and I'm positive you will also.

The Old Stein Inn is one of our favorite places. The meals are always good. We love our German food and you can't go wrong here. The selections of craft beers and mixed drinks pair well. There's entertainment once in a while as well. Loved the Accordion Lady, bought her CD. Go enjoy for yourself 💯👍

Old Stein Inn balances perfectly the practicality of a modern dining experience with the charm of an authentic biergarten.
Their drink menu prominently features authentic German beers on draft that you expect, Spaten, Weishenstephaner, Bitburger, Kostritzer Hofbrau, and a raspberry lambic. Aside from the drafts they also feature a large selection of Bavarian specialty beers like the prestigious Ayinger line.
The nice thing about Old Stein Inn is the expansion of their drinks list to accomodate patrons who simply want a Lime Coconut Crush for example. OSI doesn't exclude guests who may not exclusively want a Biergarten experience, and I think is a big reason for their continued success.
I love the traditional Bavarian foods and appetizers and honestly would order the snacks for my meal everytime if I didn't love the mushroom hunter sauce for their jagerschnitzel so much. With fried pickles in spears, and unique dipping sauces with each dish, Old Stein Inn does an amazing job at providing a unique and differentiating take on their biergarten experience.
Playing traditional German folk music while featuring a fully accommodating menu, Old Stein Inn has a little something for everyone. Prost! Zum Wohl!
