The Backstretch

Ate here for lunch today and I have to say the Dulce de Leche burger is the best burger I've had in many years. Hats off to the owner for ingenuity and the chef for a perfectly cooked burger. Highly recommend! Thank you backstretch for a great lunch!!! ( Apologies for the picture of the burger already partially eaten... It was just that good!)

The food here never ever disappoints. Tonight I had the croque monsieur and it surpassed all of my expectations. The cheese stretched my arm’s length when I took a bite! My husband loves the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and we truly look forward to their deviled eggs! The menu is upscale and creative without being pretentious or overpriced. Takeout orders are always hot, well packaged, and accurate. The atmosphere is fun, upbeat small-town/college bar in the evenings but not too loud or wild. Great Delaware spot!

New to the area and just had a late lunch at The Bachstretch. Our meal was fantastic! My husband had the blackberry bacon melt (BLT), with hush puppies. I had the cheese melt with Gouda and tomato and French fries. The food came out hot, fresh, and fast and it was delicious! Mackenzie was a server and she was very attentive, friendly, and did a great job telling us about the seasonal specials and answering our questions. If you haven’t tried The Backstretch, you’re missing out!

Totally a college town, hole-in-the wall kind of place. There is a wall of board games right when you walk in. The food is absolutely phenomenal. Chips amd French fries are cut and made fresh as they're ordered. The mac and cheese is creamy and so tasty. My brother got the dulce de Leche burger and said it was very good. I had the melt, a grilled cheese and added bacon and avocado. SO good! Oh! The stuffed avocado was amazing. I really don't think you can go wrong. Definity worth stopping in!
