As a legendary BBQ spot and the inventor of Alabama white sauce, I had to try this place. It's very gritty and original, and a very lively spot. Lots of local folks enjoying the food when we stopped in.
The food was pretty good, and definitely worth trying once. You HAVE to try the chicken with the white sauce, and the ribs were really good. The sides and the sweet tea were OK. The potato salad was pretty standard and the slaw was very strange.

We love big Bob Gibson and Chris Lilly. The food was pretty good, although the slaw I just do not understand. I will say that if you look at the pictures posted I don't believe that Chris Lilly and the family would be happy about the cleanliness of this restaurant. Honestly, I just expect more out of such a high caliber Family and pit masters.

LOVED the BBQ. Their brisket is the best that I have ever tasted. The sides were really good, loved the baked beans. Ribs were amazing, we could barely finish our food. The portion size were pretty big. We stumbled upon this gem on a road trip back from New Orleans and si happy we found it.

So so delicious!! The sauce, the food, the service, the atmosphere was so awesome. We loved the bbq chicken, the massive potatoes and the coconut cream pie. The white sauce was so good. We had to order some when we got home.

My mister is a BBQ aficionado and going here was actually a bucket list item for him. I've seen the shows of course and with this being home to the original Alabama bbq white sauce and consecutive annual BBQ champion I was ecstatic too. We live 1.5 hrs away. I said that because temperature does affect food and our food was ordered to go. We opted for sauce on the side to taste the meat but both the ribs and chicken were not seasoned, over cooked and REQUIRED sauce. The greens were okay with a slight sugar undertone. The macaroni wasn't memorable. The turkey and brisket was still juicy by the time we made it home. The sliced turkey was the best thing we could have ordered. The couple in the line with us recommended the ice box pie. It was all fluff as you could see in the picture the actual pie filling was practically non existent Service was great though

I got to Big Bobs early and grabbed a combo plate of ribs and chicken (dark) with coleslaw and Mac and cheese. I’ve got say that was the best BBQ chicken I’ve had in a while. The ribs were very good as well but the chicken was 🔥🔥🔥 I also got to try their pecan pie and that first bite brought a smile to my face 😌 very good! Would definitely comeback when in Decatur

so good! We had pulled pork, brisket, turkey, wings and sides and it was all so good. Add on the sauces and a chocolate pie to go and it's a winner for sure!!
