Reviews of Ruby Restaurant

Last night, went with friends to this Chinese restaurant, which has new management since summer 2016. The owners are from Toronto and have a Chinese restaurant there as well. All the reviews that you see prior to summer 2016 were from the previous owners and do not do justice to the new owners. We ordered combination plates for four and each dish was homemade, even the apple sauce for the egg role. Different flavours for each dish which, by the way, were delicious. No MSG used in the food. We finished our meal with a delicious mango custard. We will be returning as regular customers. Really worth a try. The hostess, who is also the owner, makes you feel welcome and is very friendly.

Pretty bad. We were unable to get into the restaurant of choice one Saturday evening and decided to try this place. What a mistake. We were one of two tables occupied. The sushi was ok, but the hot entrees were awful. They seemed to be prepared using the same bottled sauce regardless of the dish. I've eaten a lot of Thai food and this was the worst ever. The owner chastised her staff in front of us which was uncomfortable. The soup was ok. We avoided the dessert and strange assortment of items in the salad bar.

Good Sushi and soup the rest was ok. We went here on a Saturday at 11am which is perfect as we were the only ones in the place. The service was good.<br/>The all you can eat is a super deal, I put away my share in sushi alone. The soups were good, I didn't try any salads or desserts. The sushi was acceptable as Cornwall sushi goes.<br/>For hot stuff, the chicken and beef were rubbery and seemed microwaved. The basil fried rice was the best dish. The curries...green was good, yellow was the same stuff and the red wasn't even red, I suspect they only have one curry sauce. The veggies were fresh though.<br/>We will go back to try more but I wont bother getting chicken or beef with anything...texture was kinda gross.<br/>If a restaurant makeover company ever asked me what to do to this place, I'd say to take down all the holiday decorations that are up year round...tacky is an understatement. Kinda dumb really.

A great all you can eat style restaurant!. The ruby has some really lovely sushi which is plated in a whimsical style. If sushi, and the like isn't your thing then the menu also includes japanese, chinese and thai which can be excellent. They are friendly, happy, and fast to the table. <br/>My only complaint so far is that the non-sushi plates tend to be small so if you have a favorite you have to keep re-ordering.

Spectacular!. Someone had told me about this place at work and I am very happy I checked it out!<br/><br/>So far the freshest buffet I've ever eaten at. Usually in Chinese buffet places you expect lots of food in a buffet that is so-so quality and possibly lukewarm, but not Ruby's! <br/><br/>Sushi and other Japanese, Thai and Chinese dishes made to order with a super nice staff that explain everything to you :) Glad I tried some sushi! Very well priced too at 19.99 each for all you can eat plus a discount of 20% for a limited time.<br/><br/>Ruby's is definitely a step above in service, quality, taste, and value than any other buffet/Japanese/Chinese/Thai place i've ever been to :)
