Amazing place.. Family style. Tasty. Authentic. Solid eats. Never get stomachache. Vegetable Pad Thai only so the flavor of the pad thai such as tamarind and fish sauce shine, papaya salad, bbq beef salad, peanut sauce, mango sticky rice... The best combinations of all time without breaking your budget. Update: years later and they still have the food quality and taste expected and depends on. It explains how this place gather many "regulars" who know the menu in their memories and know the owner by stories. Depends on the time, rarely, they get overwhelm and service may seems slow, however, it doesn't affect the food taste. They always say: "good things come to those who wait" so just sit back, catch up with your love ones, take some deep breaths because the food will be enjoyable when it comes. Years later, the quality of food still there, amazing place, wonderful people.

My first visit to the Thai Gem was a very pleasant experience. I was warmly greeted by the owner who informed me of the 35yr. family business. Within that time span no one has ever caught food poisoning due to every meal being freshly made and prepared for your satisfaction. As for me, I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Soup Coconut Milk which was absolutely delicious (hot & fresh). Without hesitation I highly recommend the homestyle restaurant, Thai Gem.

Lol at all these positive reviews. Must be family and friends. Food tasted good, but I got an Uber eats order and they put my soup in a styrofoam to-go container, so majority of it leaked in the bag. And they also skimped me on my food. For $50 I should have enough to feed at least 4 people. I got enough for maybe two people, or one person with a big appetite. You order Asian food you expect to get plugged, no shorted. I HIGHLY recommend anyone who sees this to skip this place and go hit up Pad Thai on Shaw down the street!! Double the portions and double the taste.
