Shoney's

Shoney's is one of the oldest family oriented resturants that is still thriving today. I was very disappointed to see the conditions of this resturants. Although the food was good and the customer service was really nice, the condition of the restaurant was not very welcoming. Starting with the parking lot which is in need of serious repair. The entrance doors do not close properly. One of the ceiling fans need to be replaced. Ceiling tile filthy, Faded paintings on the wall, and the carpet, oh my goodness, is so worn that you are actually walking on the glue that bonded the yarn together. Last but not least, the air conditioning was not working properly. It was warm inside. It is really sad that people invest in something like this and don't feel the need to continue to take pride in their investment. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the food was good.

It's been years since I've eaten at a Shoney's restaurant. I was a little disappointed with today's visit. Everyone that I talked to was very nice. The server was polite but untrained. The food was lacking. It was OK but even by buffet standards the food was a little unappealing and largely tasteless. I got the impression that Shoney's is merely coasting along. The parking lot was full of potholes, the restaurant interior was clean but tired looking. Shoney's badly needs a makeover and new marketing. I've always liked Shoney's in the past. Today. Not so much.

Extremely run down! We came in because we wanted a fresh salad. Nothing was fresh about this place! Very disappointed with the lack of upkeep. Columns outside are rotted, signs on doors were peeling! Several cars in parking lot so we thought maybe the food would be good. Typical hot food bar with audial bland food! Couldn’t even enjoy it though because of the disrepair of the entire place. It was not filthy- apparently the staff does clean - it’s just worn out and in desperate need of renovation. Owner should be ashamed!

A buffet with flavor is a hard find and unexpected from a company which has all but left the area. If only the service was a touch better i would have given 5 stars. But how do you allow all the glasses on the table to be empty and when u finally bring fresh tea there is no ice? Attentiveness is key especially when there are only 3 tables seated. Tell me why we have time to hang out in doorways when there is trash on the floor.

The waitress was horrible. We had to ask another waitress to send her to our table just to get menus. I ordered steak and eggs. When it arrived it was cold. Since the other person ordered a burger my steak should have taken longer than anything else to cook. If nothing else was hot my steak should have been too hot to eat.

Just visited a day ago. My waitress was really nice. Visited breakfast buffet and was very upset because it was 10:30am and they ran out of french toast sticks. I asked if I could get some more since I had 30min to eat. I had to ask a couple of times, I was told each time they were being prepared, they actually started lunch then I was told I couldn't get them but another customer was getting breakfast cooked for her and my waitress told me I couldn't get anything else. After another attempt I got them as I was checking out. The other customer I watched as she was putting food in a plastic bag while her waitress continued to bring her food. The attitudes got high just because I asked for French toast sticks, didn't really care about the other customer. I live in Clinton and I wont be returning.
