Yafo Kitchen

I stopped by Yafo Kitchen on a whim after getting some errands done and was pleasantly surprised! Told the staff I was vegetarian with a dairy allergy and they changed their gloves for me, I didn’t even ask but super appreciated that! The second staff at the front was vegan which definitely gave me ease of mind. My bowl was delicious and so was the side of Brussel sprouts and potatoes I got, portions are huge and I had many leftovers. Some criticisms: I wish they had more actual dairy-free options like DF tzatziki, DF mac and cheese, etc, not just items that happen to not have dairy. More vegetarian/vegan proteins (like Beyond Meat or veg “chicken”) would be great and so would just one veggie/vegan chef entree. All in all, I’ll 100% be a repeat customer if they made such improvements!

This place has to be the best vegan option in Charlotte! Fresh, healthy, colorful and a variety of plant based options are available, as well as all the fresh meats everyone else ordered. The staff are helpful with menu suggestions for newbies, like me. The menu signs have the ingredients list so you know exactly what you are eating. I can't wait to return to Charlotte and grab a plate at Yafo. I ordered a salad/quinoa base bowl with two different types of hummus, several veggies, olives, mushrooms and a pan fried eggplant slice on top. It was so yummy! Highly recommend!

We stopped in for a quick bite on the way to a comedy show. My girlfriend said she wasn’t hungry but dove in once she tried the bowl! The amba chicken salad is great! It tastes like an Indian curry. The grape leaves and hummus are good too. The chicken shawarma was juicy and full of flavor. We also got a side of the Greek Yogurt Mac & cheese which is extremely creamy and comforting. Nice spot!!

I think this is the best place to grab a bowl in town, although you can't go wrong anywhere on this menu. The Israeli hot chicken sandwich and pita tacos are also both great if you want something outside a bowl. The crispy eggplant is a sneaky great main ingredient for your bowl. It's also an excellent carry out experience, with the food being as good at home as it is in restaurant. I hope this place expands past the existing 3 restaurants around town.

While in CLT we grabbed two kids meals. The chicken shawarma kids meal. It comes with a variety of side choices. We chose rice, pita tahini sauce ,and our drinks were the cucumber melon lemonade. It was delicious and YAFO did not disappoint. The staff was super friendly the takeaways are hot and fresh tasting. We added a side of Moroccan lamb as well. The meals came to under 20.00 again kids meals but so tasty!
