This place is so cool and filled with history. There's are blue plaque commemorating when Crick and Watson announced their discovery of the structure of DNA there, while another section has WWII graffiti of soldier's goodbyes. Drinks were delicious and there's room to sit inside and in a courtyard.

I absolutely adored this place! I stayed here for two nights because, unlike other options in Cambridge burdened with ridiculous service charges, this place not only serves incredible food but is also completely free from such charges! I tried a variety of drinks, including Guinness, Estrella, and the DNA beer – all of them were fantastic. On my first night, I ordered the fish and chips, which were remarkably tasty and wonderfully crispy! It surpassed my experiences at other Greene King establishments. I also tried the steak and ale pie, and while the pie itself was delightful, I found the mash and cabbage a bit on the dry side. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, with one small exception. The woman, who I believe was the manager and had dark hair in a ponytail, seemed to need a bit more training. Unlike the other staff members who were fine with me moving the table, she had an issue with it and "assisted" me in moving it back. She claimed it was because it was near the fire escape, but no one else seemed to have a problem, so maybe it's best to let your customers handle it themselves, right? I'll definitely be coming back for more, especially since there are no service charges here!

Very beautiful pub, lots of history and very well preserved, it’s rare to see old English pubs being kept alive! I had the bacon cheese burger and chips, it was very good quality for the price and was cooked to my liking, will be coming again for sure! Thanks 🙏

Historic place of Cambridge. The atmosphere was great. Even on a Sunday afternoon we found a place to sit for two even when the website to book a table said it was full all day. Great selection of beer and cider, and the staff was friendly and helpful in choosing. Food was delivered quickly to your table and was very tasty.

The memories on the walls and the history contained within is overwhelming. The pub is affiliated with greene king but has a specialty hamburger called The Eagle. Chicken platter had good wings and the nachos were very tasty but I found the tenders to be too crunchy. My wife got the 28 day aged sirloin and it was very tasty. I ordered a butternut Squash soup and it was decent. Come here for a good time with friends and family and you will surely overhear someone talking about the war. Sat in table 4 and apparently the gentleman enjoyed my company even! If you are in the military you can show your ID and sign your name on the wall.

Today we have visited this bar and we do every single time we come to visit Cambridge. It is great place for the afternoon drink, especially in their garden. Food was 4/5 for quality and price. Beer great and cold. The waiter was amazing even it was so busy at the time we been. We spilled a coke onto our food while he was present because of silly accident and he kindly changed it for us regards it was our fault. Definately will come back again

The RAF bar! Very historic. Nice outdoor seating. Really good food. Central location. Some good veggie options. But I did not see any ventilation indoors and it smelled stuffy, so stay there at your own risk. But you can sit outside with parasols.

The Eagle in Cambridge is a fantastic historic pub with excellent food. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, and the atmosphere is charming and cozy. It's a great place to enjoy a meal and soak in the pub's rich history. Highly recommended! In addition to its great food and historic ambiance, The Eagle in Cambridge is also famous for its connection to the discovery of DNA structure. Watson and Crick famously frequented this pub and it is said that they announced their groundbreaking DNA publication here. It's a must-visit spot for history and science enthusiasts alike!

One of the historic pubs in Cambridge that is definitely worth a visit. The atmosphere is nice, there are a few rooms with tables and a garden. However, the tables are quite close to each other, so they a bit cramped. It was packed for lunch but we managed to find a table. The service was good and quite fast, prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, toilets, which are located on the lower floor, weren't that clean. The menu has different options, and there are daily specials. I tried the special chicken and mushroom pie, which came with mashed potatoes, sauce, and carrots. It was good but needed a bit more flavour. My partner had fish and chips, which were crispy, but the mashed peas needed more seasoning.
