Godfrey’s

A colleague of mine lives close by, he treated me to a portion of cod and chips from the Bushey shop.. Ive had fish and chips in lets say a few places, this is without a doubt on of the best I've had.. The fish was cooked to perfection flaky and came apart as it should do when eaten and the batter was super crispy and of cause the chips were just right and came in a box so they were not soggy.. Made a point of calling in on my past to say how good it was to the staff.. I'm just pleased its no to close as I'm not sure how my waist would far.. Great food..

This is honestly the best fish and chip shop I have ever been to and this is no exaggeration. It is spotlessly clean, the customer service is good, the food is freshly cooked to order and delicious, from their beautiful fish and crispy chips to their homemade tartar sauce I have never found fault with Godfreys. I do not eat fish and chips regularly and stopped buying it a few years ago as the quality wherever I went wasn't very good but since I've discovered Godfreys if I ever do want a treat this is my first choice! Their food containers are also all recyclable compostable paper and card which I have never seen anywhere else and is another positivein my book, this is a first rate chippy and well worth a visit.

Best fish and chips outside of Cornwall! The fish is well portioned and cooked in a light crispy batter and is not too greasy when served; the chips are perfectly cooked crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside (I’m almost certain they twice cook the chips) Don t bother buying condiments as their free homemade tartar sauce is simply perfect. Now a very slight negative is the cost but on the other hand you pay for the quality. You will not be disappointed!
