Original Soup Man

I stopped at Original Soup Man because soup for lunch sounded good. The 2 gentlemen who waited on me were polite and helpful, and even provided me with a sample of the broccoli cheese soup. I felt compelled to order, so I purchased a bowl of the soup. I was rather put off by the cost - more than $7 for a bowl to go. However, upon arriving home I discovered I had a brown bag lunch with a generous serving of soup, a fresh baguette, a pat of real butter and a perfectly ripe banana. The soup was mediocre (obviously made from a commercial mix), the baguette was warm and delicious. I only ate half the soup (LOADED with sodium), thoroughly enjoyed the baguette and was too full for the banana. I had a good experience, other than the salty, processed made-from-a-mix soup. I find it somewhat ironic that a venue that only offers soup and sandwiches sells food service soup. I expected homemade. Onviously, the Original Soup Man is a franchised endeavor. I really don't know how this place stays open, unless the sandwiches on the menu are phenomenal. The soup certainly isn't.

Excellent customer service! I went in when I wasn't feeling well looking for a light vegetarian soup and the man behind the counter knew right away which one would be best. I was ready to order then but he offered to let me try a sample just to be sure it wouldn't upset my stomach. He even stapled my to-go bag which not a lot of places do even though its a very convenient little touch. The soup itself is hearty, tasty, and nutritious without sitting in the stomach too heavily. The bread the give isn't that wimpy white bread that never leaves you feeling full. It's got a bit of heft without being hard to chew, which is perfect for me. All around I can't find a thing to complain about. Is it a little pricey for soup? Sure, but you get what you pay for an in my opinion it's well worth it.
