Panera Bread

Relaxed setting for meeting a friend for a healthy meal or great to grab and go. Laptop friendly for patrons with relatively quiet surroundings. Friendly and courteous staff. So why 4 stars one might ask? I requested a knife to cut mom's sandwich to make manageable for her... knife received appeared to miss some cycle of the cleaning process. This has never happened in the years I've frequented this particular Panera.

I have been coming to this Panera since it opened and honestly it has never been on par with others near by (Bowie Town Center and Gambrills). Over the last few years, however, it has declined to unacceptable levels. The portions are smaller than other stores; there are always flies in the restaurant; the coffee is always cold; and utensils and salad dressing are served in plastic like carryout even when dining in. I consistently come back for the convenience and each time I am reminded why I shouldn't. I absolutely will not return.

I only come to this location because of the convenience of the location. The customer service is horrible and often times you can hear the employees yelling and laughing extremely loud as if they are in here alone. One particular cashier is always loud, going off on customers, talking trash about customers, and discussing work issues very loudly. The wait times for rapid orders is always long and no one communicates effectively. Often times they’ll mark the orders as completed and they never were. The managers often don’t act like their job title and are sometimes rude and loud as well. If it weren’t for the dining room area being spacious and my ability to work, I would go somewhere else.

Tried to place order on website, would not let me place ASAP order. Said the quickest my food could be ready was 20 hours later. Called and tried to place order by phone was told I can't place order by phone because they're too busy. Explained the website wasn't working. Was told by manager "I know, that's because we're too busy.. You have to come in and wait like everyone else." Then was promptly hung up on. Really Panera bread won't get any more of my business I guess. Customer service has just gone downhill.

I had to update my review because of one person the managerJEFF. Jeff I appreciate how you handle the situation today. Imagine a group of hungry office workers who waited for a delivery but the order was messed up. THEN IMAGINE A MANAGER WHO TAKES THE TIME TO LISTEN TO THIS ISSUE THEN DECIDE TO DELIVER THE FOOD HIMSELF (we’re 5mins away and couldn’t leave the office ). If Jeff isn’t working when I place an order I probably won’t be ordering, because this is the kind of care and service that makes a bad situation turn around. Literally every order I do has an issue from This location. Today I’m sorry was the last straw , I ordered a caramel iced coffee with almond milk and cane syrup. I don’t know who or what put this together eww watered down coffee with no sugar or a hint of caramel . I can’t even begin to explain how nastyyy

So i came to this location today 06/15/2022 and it was the worst service I ever had and food too’ their costumer service sucks and I was just in disbelieve the whole time I was there! I’ve never received a service as bad as today from Panera ever in my life! The cashier was horrible in a bad mood giving me attitude. My food was ready in 3 minutes 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my sandwich was cold barely toasted and saggy cause of all the sauce sloppy messy sandwich which I never ever had! The brócoli and cheddar soup was just horrible! It tasted kind of like nutmeg it was just horrible horrible experience and the locations was messy and out of lids and straws! I only took this food because I had no time to complaint and ask for a refund. Horrible will never be back I might just be done with Panera for good!
