Tavern On The Square

Great atmosphere and ambience good food and good drinks although the service is a little bit slow. I do really like the Vegas kind of vibe where you can walk around with your drinks to the different bars and restaurants that make up McMenamins. There's a whiskey bar in a cool little cottage in the middle of the square there's The tavern on the square with food and drinks and there's also a sports bar with pool tables and even a hotel if you get too faded and don't want to drive they turn the old high school campus into a hotel and multiple restaurants and bars very cool

Best outdoor patio in Bothell! And dog friendly restaurant in the PNW!! Our server Chelsea, was on top of it (McMenamins does such a stellar job with their staff) and helped make my birthday special. When you come (not If but WHEN) you can enjoy spectacular dinning (covid or not) in their outdoor or indoor environment. Both The Woodshop and/or The Tavern (both are on-site) are sure to not disappoint!

Neat atmosphere but I didn't feel taken care of there. We sat at our table for quite a while before we were greeted. There were 4 at our table and they brought our salads at different times; about 5 minutes apart. My boyfriend and his brother had pork chops and they didn't get a knife until 5 minutes after their meal was delivered. The restaurant wasn't busy so I am not sure what the issue was. There was no pepper on our table and the one they brought, after we asked, was empty. The pork chops were really good. My pizza crust was a little burned. I was anticipating a better experience.

Food was great! I had the waygu burger (rare) and the cook was spot on. I tried the new Unleash The Kraken (double IPA) and it was smooth and full of flavor, and nicely not too sweet. Will definitely be having that again. We arrived on a whim and found parking fairly easily and close, although that parking lot is always interesting, so we masked up and headed in. It was Sunday around 1600 (4pm) and there was no wait! Even though it was a three day weekend! We were seated outside right away with plenty of space between us and the next table. The tables outdoors were spaced safety enough to make us feel safe enough to remove our masks to eat. Unfortunately then the waiting began. It was several minutes before anyone asked if we had been helped and with a reply of no we were assured that someone would be with us soon it was still another 7-9 minutes before anyone took our order. It was 28 minutes before we saw our food and the fries were cool to the touch for all three of us. The kids burger we ordered did not have the cheese he ordered nor the pickles. By this point he was starving and with no service in sight we convinced him to to start it anyway. Our server came out to us after we were mostly done with the meal to check on how we were doing. The water pitcher was never refilled and we were not asked if there were anything else we wanted. At this point we just requested the bill. She was promptly back with that and we gave her our card, which she seemed unready for, and then worked the room while we waited for her to come back with the card receipt. When she finally returned there was no liquid in any of our glasses and we had reached the point of impatience to leave. This was our worst service here and we have been there numerous times with much better quality of servers. The table to our right was from out of state and asked if the service was always like this and before we could respond to them the table in front of us chimed in with a statement of how it had been like this a lot lately. However the food was still good enough for us to return eventually. So the four stars is based on our main courses and not the fries or service.
