Bar Anticipation

My wife and I went here to partake in their Jersey Shore Restaurant Week lunch. We had never been here before but heard stories about the young crowd and drunks so felt it wasn't our type of place. The place is huge with both indoor and outdoor bar areas. We sat in one of the dining areas which was pretty full for lunch. There were about 12 tables with one waitress, Victoria. She did a great job of handling all the tables. We were both surprised by the quality of the food, presentation and size of the dishes. My wife had steak which she requested medium. It arrived medium rare, but she was fine with the that I had a chicken sandwich which was slightly overcooked, but,had a good taste. The french fries were very good. We both agreed we would visit again.

Ladies and gentleman, I am happy and honored to give this excellent establishment a five star review. RARELY, do you ever encounter a venue that has something for every adult. Bar A as they say locally on the Jersey Shore has great food, great service, great live music, great alcohol and you can even literally play beach volleyball in back on a slower day. Rarely, do you see a customer walk out unhappy. Bar A is legendary on the Jersey Shore and its reputation is well earned. It’s a must see if you are in the neighborhood and into the bar/club scene. Management and staff are extremely professional and lastly the prices are even fair.

We were so happy to hear that The Snakes were performing earlier than usual at Bar A ! We felt lucky to get a hi top in the bar area at 6 just before the Snakes began to play. Our server, John, was very attentive and pleasant ! He had to manage many tables and did it with grace and kindness ( we observed) ! Good luck John as you maneuver this time in your life 🍀

The service was far, far better than we expected for this type of place. An employee made a special point of helping us find a quiet, open table to get dinner despite the main floor being packed for a live band. Server was super attentive. And multiple employees wished us a good night as we left. A really great experience.

Been awhile since my last visit. Somethings stay the same but not the prices. Maybe I'm out of touch but $3.75 for draft beer, and that was HH price. Food was good and service was good also. Not fond of having 2 tabs, one for beer another for food. Whatever. Usually frequent another establishment but they don't open until 4. I was early this visit so I tried another spot. Will probably go back as I said food was good but will drink H2O.

Bar A has been around as long as I can remember and it's been a local institution. I'm personally a huge fan of the outdoor patio bar areas. Inside, live bands play and it gets busy on the weekends. Wings are very good, mussels are great. Food is pretty good. Service is great, atmosphere is great. The crowd is usually a little on the older side, but at peak times it's more varied. Overall, this is still a fun spot to grab a beer and some food.
